PC/Wii gamer that feels like he didn't miss out on anything. I'm not much of a graphics person and I play shooters on both Wii and PC and don't have any problems. I was gaming only on the Wii till 2 years back and I don't regret it. Owning a decent PC allowed me to play Assassin's Creed and Bioshock but nothing could compare to playing Super Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess.Kenny789
Then you practically missed out on 80% of the GOTYs. With the exception of Gears 1, no other GOTY appeared on PC. You can safely say that you went by this gen and missed out on most of the top games this gen.

He has two systems, therefor missed out on half of the great games this gen. That's what I think anyway. If you wanted to argue it, he only missed the last 3.

Maybe it's just me. But, I actually like the graphics of the above. It's not going to win any graphics king contests. But, that's not a concern to me. Of course, we have a Wii at home. So, I have a bit of a bias towards it. But, if I want graphics kings, I also game on the PC.
I'm not missing out on anything since Inow ownboth a 360 and Wii.
And these games own conker.
Sonic colors
Super Mario Galaxy 2
super600
Sonic Generations looks like the equivalent of a PS2 game on the Wii, and none of the Wii games out right now couldn't be done on a last gen console.
Top games on the next gen consoles cannot be done on the last gen consoles, big difference.

Its sonic colors. The game looks incredible in motion especially starligt carnival because of the dazzling colours.
Wii-only owners missed out on some good console exclusives from MS and Sony, and some good multiplats. 360/PS3 only owners missed out on some of the best 1st party titles of the generation.
This argument goes both ways.

That's Sonic Colors, and there is no way the PS2 can handle a game that looks like that (not to mention, the PS2 version of Sonic Heroes was botched up) or a game like Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2. It would lag like mad.EDIT: Not a good choice of words there. :P

Nobody cares about constanty having big named games on the system. There are a lot of unknown and good games on the system but people always seem to ignore them.

Some people would like to play games like Muramasa the demon blade Sonic and the secret rings(if you think that game is good),monster hunter tri, all the Bit trip games,No more heroes one and two, Tatsunoko vs Capcom,Sonic colors, Madworld, the cod games(even though Idon't like the franchise) and more.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars- There are fighting game fans who don't have a clue what Tatsunoko is, but they still want it because they think it looks like a fun fighter. And from my personal experience with the game, it is.
You asked for a couple. You got it.

Now its my turn. Street Fighter IV Marvel vs Capcom 3 GTA 4/5 Dark Soul Batman Arkhum series Assassins Creed Battlefield series Elder of Scrolls just to name a few :)1. The Wii is a current-gen console. That is a known fact. Get over it and stop hating.
2. I have a PS3 so I wouldn't say I "missed out".
3. People who don't have a Wii missed out on some truly great titles this gen.
4.TC probably doesn't have a Wii otherwise he wouldn't be bashing it the way he is all the time.

First you ask me to tell you A COUPLE games for the Wii not made by Nintendo and you argue that point by showing me MORE than a couple games NOT on the Wii. The way you asked me that seemed like you weren't aware of what Wii games there were and you pull that off. :|It doesn't matter if the Wii doesn't have the games the HD twins do, the point is that PS3/360 owners still miss out on third party Wii exclusives. What more do you want?
[QUOTE="CaveJohnson1"]
You would miss out on more owning only the wii, than you would only the PS3 or 360
ChubbyGuy40
Pretty sure Wii has the most good-ranking exclusives out of both of those platforms.
Does it even matter? If you owned just a wii, you missed out on a huge amount of multiplatform games. Nintendo games are awesome, but there's way more multiplats/exclusives on the 360 or ps3 that aren't on the wii.[QUOTE="ChubbyGuy40"]

You only miss out if you want something, but can't get it.
Its funny that you say todays games would be hekd back by the Wii, because the 360 and PS3 in general are holding back the wave of high-tech games. But despite inferior graphics, the Wii has some brilliant unique first party titles, and you would be crazy to just sit back and hate the wii and miss out on these brilliant First party games.DeX2010
There are also some excellent third party games that are really innovative. Not too many though.

Some people don't prioritize graphics as what makes a console great....
keybladegamer
Indeed, but feels a bit akward to pay 250 euro to buy Wii and play games on my new HDTV that look low resolution with muddy textures etc
If anything it should cost 100$ so we dont feel cheated, especially since it came a whole year after 360
Sorry, but the Wii is a current gen console, however, that's not to say if you only own a Wii you didn't miss out on other current gen experiences.
[QUOTE="keybladegamer"]Graphics open the door to many new possibilities, games like UC2 (and many more) for one would not have been possible without more advanced technology. Some people don't prioritize graphics as what makes a console great....

Games like UC2 rely on an obessive use of cutscenes and set pieces to maketheir gameplay which results in completely linear gameplay. I'm not saying this is bad, but a lot of games this gen have followed the kinda path the Uncharted games have taken.

Textures on most games I own on the Wii don't look muddy, but a lot of jaggies are present in some of Wii games.
ps3, 360,and even pc owners are missing out on next gen gaming.. you know.. seeing as it's not next gen yet.
now if you meant CURRENT gen, well I'm a wii owner, yet I still take part in this experience you speak of since I also have a ps3 and a gaming pc.
now if you were trying to say that wii ONLY owners missed out on CURRENT gen gaming, any one system owner misses out on the experience of the other systems. the wii, like all of the systems, works well as a part of a whole
any way you put it, your argument just isnt that great.
Any that you would consider to actually be atleast A quality.[QUOTE="Zlychop"][QUOTE="ChubbyGuy40"]
Exclusives, multiplat, or both?
ChubbyGuy40
Exclusive:
Fortune Street, Mario Party 9, Inazuma Eleven 2012, Fatal Frame 2 (Remake,) The Last Story (EU/AU,) Pandora's Tower (EU/AU,) The Grinder (Needs a publisher,) and Fishing Resort (for teh lulz.)
Multiplat:
Mario and Sonic Olympic Games 2012 (Should've been reviewed by now,) NFS: The Run, PES 2012, WWE '12, Adventures of Tin-Tin, The Amazing Spider-Man, Cabela's Survival: Shadows of Katmai, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: E2, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Men in Black.
I've only looked through Gamespot's list, which doesn't seem to be working half the time. Ignored quite a few titles because they were shovelware or didn't have a release date on GS's page. There's still a lot more to list for multiplats, and I'm still searching for exclusives. Reggie said the Wii isn't done yet and Nintendo still has titles in development for them also.
I'm not going to defend that lineup though. Nintendo released their quality Wii titles this year and now have nothing for the time frame you wanted. Some developers jumped ship to Wii-U already, which has a vastly better lineup more suited to the so called "core" crowd.
I loled when you said mario and sonic and MP9This post really shows that wii doesn't stand up to the other systems at all, it even missed out on the likely goty Skyrim

Most reviewers thought the last mario and sonic game was decent and mario party 9 is going back to the series roots.
I'm 100% sure skyrim won't win GOTY on GS.
I'm a PC/Wii gamer and I like both equally
You know, I prefer the graphics of Galaxy 2 over high end PC BF3 simply because it's more visually pleasing. It is boring to look at realistic humans, explosions and collapsing buildings.

Yeah I agree, but they are still my favorite games visually this gen so imagine if they had been done for Wii U.
I'd say the only ways that the Wii truly fell short in this generation was that it was non-HD and the online experience was inferior to that of the 360. Other than that, it's pretty solid. One of its strengths is the exclusive IPs held by Nintendo, such as Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Donkey Kong. The Wii had great iterations of classic franchises, such as Super Mario Galaxy, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
