Aside from arcade games and a few gems, why does the Wii have so many ports?
It's almost standard now for a Wii game to be on the Wii, PS2 and PSP.
...Is the Wii the PSP's incarnation?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Yeah, here in the next year, we'll see actual dedicated third party Wii games.
So it'll more than likely be Wii first, ported to Playstation 2 (Still too early to pull the plug on that HUGE userbase) and maybe PSP.(25 Million worldwide, the Xbox and Gamecube did well with those types of userbase, who is to say the PSP can't?)
a lot of major pubs/devs had most of their resources on ps3/360 work so the wii took them by surprise. they are scrambling to get anything onto the hottest selling console now and the fastest thing they can get out are ports.

...Just like the huge success (well, it is a success to some degree) that is the PSP.
Actually, Wii is the system getting the short end of the stick (EX: Metal Slug, Rival Swords) not PSP, so the answer would be no....Is the Wii the PSP's incarnation?

Yes, it does look like the Wii is ALWAYS "losing" in multiplatform games, mainly because of the controls.

Not always. Some Wii games were said to be the better version because of the controls.
I think the better question is why is the Wii getting PSP and PS2 multiplats.
Thats far more disturbing.,

i disagree. the psp was expected to be the victor. the wii was not. the pubs/devs backed the psp much more than the ds. that's not true of the wii and it's rivals.

So not only is the Wii getting the same treatment as the PSP port-wise, it's also supported even less?
Guess we'll have to wait for those First-Party games, then.
[QUOTE="Ganon_919"]It's mostly because there were a bunch of developers that doubted the Wii would sell at all. So they ported PS2/PSP games as a quick cash-in.Xolver
There's no "were". Even Manhunt 2 is for those systems, and it's still not out.
Actually, it is "were"
Why ask the question if you're going to attempt shooting down the answer?

Er, sorry, went to bed.
I wasn't trying to shoot it down, just pointing out it didn't just "happen" once upon a time, it does still happen today and will happen in the future.
