Nintendo is backing away from being a "family" game company to a "games are for everyone" company. Meaning, games for all ages and genders...that includes adult gamers.

Manhunt 2 is a great first step because it's a proper game already coming to the PS2 and PSP. But I just don't see a Wii GTA having much commercial appeal if it's watered down and not the real deal..

i think GTA needs a more powerful system to compete with the other versions of the game on 360 and PS3 unless it's a brand new spin-off game exclusive to wii

Depends on whether its a brand spanking new game or a remake. I would rather have an entirely new GTA game if it were to actually go down that way, something more original that will make use of the Wii controller in some way. I am sure they can use the GTA 3 engine in order to make the game if it does happen.

In the end, I think everyone's going to be happy. The Wii is going to satisfy casuals and some hardcore. The 360 is going to satisfy the vast majority of the hardcore (i myself think the 360 is a damn fine game machine). The only one I can't see winning is the PS3 :?

No, the problem is that it's a spin-off and not a proper sequel. Even look at the sales of the PS2 ports Vice City and Liberty City Stories - they are barely up there with San Andreas which sold upwards of 12 million copies worldwide.

I've never been a GTA fan, but if Nintendo gets a version of GTA, and if it's a quality game that sells well, it could encourage more third-party developers to bring other games to the Wii, games I would be interested in. But that's still a lot of ifs, right now we have no idea if GTA will actually show up on the Wii in some form.
