For some reason the part that says that EA and Taketwo are follwing Ubi's lead doesn't sound too good, well we'll see how it turns out.goblaa
I don't see why not. Of all the early third party games on the wii, EA's are by far the best. Most have scored AA here.
because all ubi does is port crap.Well, there is no way you can spin this. This is good news for Nintendo and Wii owners alike. But, 3+ titles in a year from individual developers? I guess this year alone Wii will be getting quite a lot of rushed titles simply because they did not know Wii would be in the place it is at this point in time. If this happens to Take-Two the possibilities for more are definitely there, not to mention Japanese developer support seeing as how the Wii is doing in Japan. I'm starting to have a feeling that this E3 could surprise a lot of people, at least concerning the support Wii might be getting in the long run. StealthStingIndeed, the first party's are going to make the Wii win this Christmas, the third parties are gonna score the win next Christmas.
This could mean that Wii is getting more PSP and PS2 ports though.
Where are examples? Game announcements?Â
Guess what happens after EA and Take-Two follow Ubi's lead?
So does everyone else.

That would mean they would poop all of thier old ports into Wiis, already, crappy 3rd party library. For an extra buck so they can fund thier MAIN games...Â

Main games will go to Wii as well, where do you think DQ and later FF's are going to go, hint not PS3 or 360, Kingdom Hearts 3 will probably also go WiiYou are correct that GTA and a few other key franchises (but this does not preclude Dragon Quest - as seen in its shift to the DS - or even Final Fantasy and other big Japanese franchises) will stay on the 360/PS3, whereas Wii will most likely get one or two GTA spinoffs. And you are correct that traditional pads are not a poor choice (although I do think that the Wii Remote/Nunchuk has the potential to suit many genres better than traditional controls). I differ in your stance on the Wii's graphical capabilities - of course, many games DO look mediocre (bad even), but others out or on the horizon, like Sonic and the Secret Rings, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Dewy's Adventure, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Pokemon Battle Revolution, No More Heroes - look great. I think Nintendo's philosophy was that graphics have reached a saturation point and follow the law of diminishing returns (even CliffyB, who works for a graphical powerhouse of a company, has expressed similar sentiments, although he thinks that the saturation point won't be reached until next-gen, I think). I want pretty games like Gears of War, but Super Mario Galaxy is also a pretty game. I just looks *expensive* like Gears of War does. You can tell a big budget and programming team went into the game. However, there comes a point where I'm no longer wowed by sharper graphics (that point was actually reached with Rogue Squadron II on the GC - now I'm just not really that impressed anymore). It's cool that you can appreciate the HD difference more than I can (I do in fact play my Wii and my roommate's 360 on an HDTV), I'm just more indifferent to technically impressive than I used to be.
Ubisoft is laughing all the way to the bank, but doing so at the expense of the suckers who own a Wii who actually bought their shoddy games. Rayman was the only half decent title in the whole bunch. The rest were either just mediocre, or plain god-awful. It would be a shame for the Wii to be a primary development console, it isn't on the same plane as the other systems, so it would be holding them back with it's outdated and frankly sad tech.
I agree with you. I like the Wii, think it's a good console, and there are plenty of Nintendo games that I will want to play as well as some good third party ones. That said, I don't want it to be the main platform for third parties because as you point out, so much more can be done with the power of the 360 and PS3 to push graphics, and though both don't "innovate" in the controls department the way the Wii does, it's not the games played the traditional way have suddenly become bad. I'll take outstanding graphics and great traditional controls over mediocre graphics and a different control scheme anyday.

Oh, you mean like NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, Dewy's Adventure, Boogie, Project O, and Project Treasure Island Z? All of those games were announced post-launch. How many exclusive third-party games have been announced for the PS3 since its launch (and I'm not talking about games that had been in development long before launch but never had an official title, like Uncharted: Drake's Fortune). This could mean that Wii is getting more PSP and PS2 ports though.

Bloomberg can speculate all they want.
And you sheep can take it like fact all you want.
But when I see games coming out like Far Cry for Wii and Godfather and Red Steel. I realize that 3rd parties are just going to do more of those types of games. And I am happy for that, becuase you guys get all the garbage while the people with real next gen consoles get the MAIN big games.

 you do realize companies just don't snap their fingers and games are done, right? You do relaize it takes time for games to come out, these games are stop gaps until the real games start coming out at the end of this year, early next
For some reason the part that says that EA and Taketwo are follwing Ubi's lead doesn't sound too good, well we'll see how it turns out.goblaa

The fact that EA is the best 3rd party developer for Wii ATM is sad in itself :?

You guys will be lucky if they bother porting any games to the 360 or PS3 in 2 years. Its what you get for adding $10 million to game development costs for just a little bit more graphics. Please Log In to post.
