At that price, it's highway robbery, so just get one.

Wow. That's a great price. Difficult not to recommend at that price. Many great experiences already on the console with more on the way, if you're a fan of Nintendo you need to get this.

Great deal at $99, I would buy it if there was a Sears nearby but as far as I am aware, there is not. Even though (imo) there arent many worthwhile games on the system, I could see someone picking it up to play SSB or MK8. However at its current price of $300, the WiiU is far too overpriced for what you are getting (which essentially is last gen hardware).

it would be pointless, would have to pay import tax. here in uk wiiu premium are available for around £150. no point getting one yet, wiiu has NO games

But reading that thread on Cheapassgamer, there hasn't been a 2nd person confirmed to even get one. Just the original poster. It's very possible this clearance was limited to just that 1 store, and even if it is "national" clearance - alot of Sears either don't sell video games at all anymore,or if they do will just have 1 or 2 consoles (meaning they might have one of the newer bundles). So it would still require a bit of luck to find it actually stocked in a Sears.

"No excuse not to get one at that price". Well, yeah. The excuse is it's likely impossible for 95% or more of the people that read this, to actually find that bundle for $99.

Counting only exclusives and not the multiplats (because for some reason, people dismiss multiplats on Nintendo right off the bat even though they bitch about how Nintendo systems never get them), you can play New Super Mario Bros. U, Nintendo Land, Lego City Undercover, Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Game and Wario, New Super Luigi U, Super Mario 3D World, Sonic: Lost World, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, with Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros., Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, and X all coming up this year.

Pretty good list, right there and this isn't even counting the eShop stuff.

I wish I lived in the US.

No. It's just on the original Deluxe bundle.

It would be a firesale if Wal-Mart or somebody important said $99 on the Mario+Luigi, Zelda, Skylanders, or whatever other bundles are fully stocked across the country... just get rid of them all. Sears doesn't have anything "fully stocked". This deal would be very hit or miss to even find 1 in a local Sears.

Folks I just got off the phone with the Product Information people at Sears and the $99 price is an error. They are currently working on getting the price fixed in their systems. its $298.

PS4 wont see a price drop for a very long time since its selling at a record pace. Just like how it took the original Wii a long time for it's first price drop because it was dominated in sales.

Anyway I think this is a smart move for Nintendo to try and prevent Microsoft from over taking them in second place in the console war.
