And yes, this is a HUGE blow. Even the GCN got Madden.
It's the Gamecube all over again. Definitely not dead but ouch. That's gotta hurt. I hope Nintendo can turn this around.vashkeyThe Wii and gamecube at least had good stuff when they first started out. I can't say the same about the Wii U.
You mean that the Wii U is only going to get better?Wii U is like the Detroit Lions of gaming consoles
heeweesRus
EA has stopped making games for the Wii U ever since Nintendo doesn't allow Origins as part of Nintendo Network. It's a lose lose scenario for Nintendo, and unless Madden starts to decline commercially, I think Nintendo might be thinking merger here.http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/34079

lol i read that entire thing and thats old news , and 2ndly they didnt say for ever they said this year damn one year and its the end of the world , besides wiiu had madden 13 not to long ago anyway , this is probably why ea is not releasing 25 , they just released 13 on wiiu , why would any one buy madden 13 knowing 25 is on the way on the same coin why would any one who purchased madden 13 recently on wiiu buy another football game 8 mos later
Wii U is like the Detroit Lions of gaming consoles

Wiiu is the Detroit Lions, Chicago Cubs and Charlotte Bobcats all in one.
The lack of success for madden on the nintendo consoles is EA's fault. They sold fine on the gamecube. Then they went and messed with the formula and added features and covers no one wanted. If its not profitable its their own doing. But its madden so w/e/. As a gamer I'm losing nothing.
I'm a diehard Nintendo fan, but this is what happens when you intentionally stifle 3rd-party devs by nerfing the system.

OMG not madden...anything but madden.
well we still got call of duty ghosts..
StrongDeadlift
Ruh Roh
lol..i see your not familiar with call of duty on nintendo systems...basically, no one knows if its coming out until you go to the store on launch day...
so far its always been there.
I won't be able to get MAdden on my Wii U now?
Might as well just trade in my system then.
DJ-Lafleur
And im sure you will extend this same response to include every major 3rd party publisher, when they pull their support from the Wii U. :|

hiphops_savior
That type of thinking hasn't done shit for the Lions in over 50 years. You sure you want to use them as a positive analogy for the Wii U?
This. Everything that has happened with Nintendo and 3rd parties has been done to them by Nintendo themselves.I'm a diehard Nintendo fan, but this is what happens when you intentionally stifle 3rd-party devs by nerfing the system.
gamecubepad
They always impose some self-inflicted bottleneck that alienates themselves from 3rd parties, that could have very easily been subverted.
On the N64:
On the Gamecube:
On the Wii:
On the Wii U:

Didn't you hear? Wiiu got NFSMW with PC textures
"We will not be releasing a Wii U version of Madden NFL in 2013. However, we have a strong partnership with Nintendo and will continue to evaluate opportunities for delivering additional Madden NFL products for Nintendo fans in the future."EA RepresentativeStrong? I think the word you're looking for is "deteriorating"
Well, I mean, don't forget what they did on the Wii.
That didn't mean they thought the Wii was a failure.
No secret that Madden sold like arse on the Wii, not surprised by EA giving up. Too bad EA holds the nfl license, would much rather play a new nfl 2k.
edit - after reading the article, EA never said they will no longer develop Madden for Nintendo systems.:/

Is it a blow that Nintendo's losing third part support? Yes. Is it really a blow if it lost Madden, especially when that series was NEVER EVEN POPULAR on NIntendo consoles (goes with EA as a whole outside of two novel/film franchises they used to have the licenses for), even the well beloved SNES where it was praised for the third party support? No.[QUOTE="Renegade_Fury"][QUOTE="ShoulderOfOrion"]people need to stop insulting the dreamcast by comparing it to wii unintendoboy16
