Wii U Specs compared to current gen specs

Also, get prepared for 599 US dollars consoles that will overheat and crash the game industry (due to sky-high development costs).

Eh, not trusting anymore so it's a Wii :P shall see when the system and the games are launched and available for play and review.

Look at all the sheep getting excited over the garbage that Nintendo plan on releasing.

It will be just like Nintendo Wii, strong for 2 years and spends the next 5 years becoming a dust collector. The Next Gen is irrelevant until Playstation 4 comes out. Best games, best features will be on Playstation 4.

The only good thing I see on that FF tech demo is that it looks good (from a technical standpoint - aesthetics is so-so).

I'm not excited about the game it may turn into one bit because I believe it will follow the footsteps of current Square-Enix's offerings (which means boring, cimenatic games with trashy, melo-dramatic stories and shallow, uninnovative gameplay).

AMD Radeon HD 4770 is the first AMD GPU that supports GDDR5. Radeon HD 4650/4670 doesn't support GDDR5.

At the same 45nm process tech, IBM Power7 Quad core + L3 cache would be a joke i.e. the die size is larger than AMD Phenom II X6.

With Radeon HD 4xx0 series, you either

1. go below AMD Xenos** i.e. Radeon HD 4550 (80 stream processors @ starting from 600Mhz, 4 ROPs) or below,

2. exceed AMD Xenos** i.e. Radeon HD 4650 (320 stream processors @ starting from 600Mhz, 8 ROPs) or above.

**Xenos is equivalent to Radeon HD with 240 data stream processors @ 500Mhz and 8 ROPs.

With Radeon HD 4xx0 series, there's no known middle GPU between Radeon HD 4550 and Radeon HD 4650.

You know its gotta be weak when Nintendo didn't announce any specs during E3 and that exactly happened with the Wii.silversix_

I still supprised that the wiiU is coming out this year. I mean I have not heard really anything about it. No announcement of games aside from dropped 3rd party support. Claims that the tablet is more of a gimmick than anything practical. Is this going to be a bit of a sleeper hit in terms of consoles. No really announcements until its released then it picks up by word of mouth etc.

I can remember the huge excitement for the PS3 and the Xbox360. But the WiiU there is nothing. At all.

Isn't XDR2 faster and cheaper than GDDR5?

AMD 7750 is more efficient/newer and cooler than 4770.

I'm getting the Wii U, but not under the idea/hope that the 720/PS4 will be comparable in specs. While that could happen, I doubt both companies will follow suit. Anything is possible though.

From what I seen from the rumored specs and the price of really powerful hardware now a days I have a feeling both consoles at their max will be 3.5X to 5X times more powerful then then WiiU.Their is no way MS and especially sony can afford to produce a console that is more then 5X stronger then the WiiU.I'm not saying both consoles will be comparable to the WiiU,but they won't be able to make porting to the console impossible like porting from the HD consoles to the Wii was this gen because of the modern feature set.

Rumbus claims the XDR2 to be faster than GDDR5. There are another reasons why AMD(ATI) and NVIDIA avoids Rumbus's XDR/XDR2.
