The sheep will not be pleased with this one...

At this point it's kind of hard to deny... Though, the quotations around games was really uncalled for as the Wii does have some excellent titles... And some excellent ones coming this year.

Yes, if you like the same old, same old, brain games, and cooking simulators.  To be fair though, Mario, Metroid and Smash Bros will be great games, and SMG is still probably my most anticipated game for this year.

I know that they're focusing more on delivering games for the non-gaming crowd, and the only games really coming out for the more hardcore crowd are games in their established franchises.  It's a sound strategy, but something new would be nice as well.

If I'm not mistaken, Metroid, Mario, Smash, and Paper Mario are all coming out this year. Those four games alone could make it a hell of a year... Though it also makes me wonder if 2008 is going to be a gaming wasteland.

I still stand by my most of my original statement though.  I bought the Wii because of the VC and Nintendo's established franchises, but I also thought they'd try to deliver some great new stuff as well.  Instead most of it is games really geared more towards females, and non-gamers.  I'm not even going to get started on the third party games coming for the console.  All they're doing is recycling their crap with takced on Wii controls.  Ubisoft being the worst offender.

Super Paper Mario? Ya it's "Paper Mario" but it's a 'NEW' game.. Just because a title is a established franchise doesn't mean that the game doesnt provide something new.

I'll be shocked if MP 3 or SSBB isn't pushed in to first quarter 08.  Which is ok, with GTA IV, Halo 3, and SMG is enough towards the end of the year anyway.

That would likely be a good thing for the Wii... Spread the games out. Doesn't really change that it does have some very compelling games on the horizon.

I'm saying I'd like to see some new IPs.  PS3 is getting them, 360 is getting them.  Wii is too, but I haven't seen any for the gaming crowd.

It is something I've never thought about. Nintendo directly stated in a video I saw that their number 1 priority in 2007 was expanding their audience. So it leaves me to wonder if in 2008, if they achieve their goal, will we see everything "hardcore" gamers want. On a side note, I'd be surprised if Metroid Prime 3 was delayed past Q3. It could happen, but I just don't see it.

Well, I can't see them releasing a new Mario platformer, a new Metroid, and new Smash Bros. basically at the same time. Of course I don't know their plans for 2008 though.  They have Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, and a number of other franchises they could fall back on I guess. And, there's also the Virtual Console, which I do have to admit, I've put a lot of money in to that so far.

That doesnt matter to sheep. They believe what they have been told. Its the 360 prem that is only playable. It helps with their justification of $250 for a Wii theory. Yes it was Oswald that did it. Nintendo = Warren commision

Well, I can't argue that, it is a rip off and the sooner MS realizes that and scraps it, the better.

Funny I think the same about the Wii. A Wii HD would prove that point to no end. Then again why would you make a new version of the GB, if the DS is selling so well. inkte ebutthewi

But the thing is there is still only ONE wii.  So if your going to get a Wii you just get it.  There are two 360's to choose from and I feel sorry for anyone who chooses the core.  Now if the Wii does eventually get an upgrade then the same thing could be said.  Although i think its less and less likely that they will.

I'm getting myself a Wii as soon as they can meet demand and I can just walk in and buy one.  Already have an Xbox360.  If could only choose one for now I'd say 360... more games, better 3rd party support, very good games just around the corner. Still, I look forward to having a wii.

Wii plays Gamecube and Wii games, while a core without a harddrive can only play 360 games.

I would hope someone would want to buy a 360 for 360 games.. :|

So, all the good games from the original Xbox are already on the PC. I just want 360 games and the Core will do it.

Just sucks Microsoft had to make their own format for the HDD connector. Lame.

Same thing with 360 in the Uk. From waht I remember, not until May could you walk into any shop and get one. At least not one not bundled. Then again at the ease, it takes to recycled those GC. It really shouldnt be too hard to keep up with demand. Then again I wouldnt put it past Nintendo to not try and create false demand, but using the we have low stock. Giving people a sense of oh I finally got one, I feel so lucky. My bud expressed this to me yesterday. I wept for him. At the same time his attutide was you can walk into a shop and get a PS3 anywhere. He doesnt seem to know that PS3 isnt out yet. He isnt hardcore anymore, but knows his computer stuff. Just kind of shows you once your out of the gaming loop, how easy it is to be conviced of things that isnt true. He also used the kids excuse when telling me about it. Funny he didnt buy any other games apart from Sonic, yet he did complain about the arms getting tired. I asked him if his new HDTV is cracked yet, and he told me he just got his Wii a couple of days ago. Anyway, maybe I might be a convert and be turned to teh darkside after thrashing out his new Nintendo console. I wasnt going to say Wii in that context. I do think I would be a bit worried about cracking his hdtv. I will also use him to see how many games he does get and se how bored he gets as a former lem and hermit. What I did find strange was that he talked about the 425 pounds being too much. For one thing he aint broke and earns quite a bit. I do think the price of the Wii was big factor in getting one, fun being the main other part. Then again I think what stopped him from getting a 360 was he price and right now the price point is helping the Wii more then I thought. No matter how you try to show the price isnt much for what you get. I think that people here will get teh Wii and a 360 when there is a proper price drop. Not because is expensive, but we like to get what we precieve as a bargin. I guess the Wii seems like that at 1st look.

Wii plays Gamecube and Wii games, while a core without a harddrive can only play 360 games.

I would hope someone would want to buy a 360 for 360 games.. :|

True. But I was saying people with old collections would like one system to be able to play both old and new

well if you got a collection you should still have the system for which the games were made to be played on... But there's no argument that the Wii has the ultimate BC.

I never get rid of my old systems. NES is under my bed. Just meant, space wise having all your games under one box.

If you had to choose between these two which would you choose and why? -supercharged-
None. Because PC's can do what they both do and more.

I voted neither.  I would choose 360 over Wii in a heartbeat, but MS shouldn't even be selling the core system.  You want the hard drive.  You would still have to buy a 64MB memory module for $40 even if you decide to go cheap, and the core comes with a wired instead of wireless controller.  Just say no to the Core system!
