Whats a Wii???? Is it that dusty thing in my entertainment center?todd2r

Funny thing is my PC is a dust magnet with my PS3 coming in 2nd. The Wii and 360 stay fairly clean. And none of this relates to how much use they get.

Yeah, cuz I'm sure more people play the first/2nd party games on PS3 than the third party games. :roll:You seem to forget those game onl;y make up a very small fraction of both consoles. It's also nice to see you pretend the 360 doesn't have have good 2nd/1st party games, but I can't say I'm surprised. Cows do like to completely ignore them.

vashkey

That makes no sense at all. So, if I think Wii is better, there's no way I can think PS3 is better than Wii despite PS3 exclusives being different than 360? There's plenty of exclusives on each console that caters to different gamers.

Edit: I'm mean I'm not a fan of these games, but NiS and Atlus have couple of exclusives that some people really like.

I don't see Playstation anywhere on this poll.

samanthademeste

His point is that since cows hate the 360, they are likely to vote for the Wii over the 360, just to make the 360 look bad.

What about hermits?

They'll either not vote, or just vote for whatever console they prefer. Generally, they hate the 360 though, so they might all also vote for the Wii. Is the Wii winning this poll? I haven't voted, and haven't seen the results either.

The Wii has 25 votes while the 360 has 14.

I guess when it comes down to it, people define the "better console" by the quality of its exclusives.

Except that there is more to a console's library than just its exclusives. If I own an Xbox 360, and only an Xbox 360, it won't matter to me that I can play Mass Effect 2 on a PS3, it will matter to me that I can also play it on my Xbox. If I own a Wii and only a Wii, most of the games released are inaccessible to me. The Wii winning this poll is basically proof of the fact that this is a Sheep+Cows vs Lemmings poll, with Hermits going either way.

I'd say 360 if you're getting just one gaming system. If you have at least one more, then the wii.

Why not? Wii has much better exclusives, doesn't charge for online, much more reliable and you don't have to spend on overpriced accessories that are important like a hard drive.

I thought this was 360 vs Wii no PC+Wii or PS3+wii. Really, if you compare the entire libraries of both consoles head to head, 360 wins. The only reason the Wii is winning is basically because cows hate the 360 this much.

Another scenario would be most gamers owning more than just one or two systems so the 360 becomes irrelevant when they own a PS3 and/or gaming PC. That's what not having enough quality exclusives does for your system.

Owning an Xbox with, say, a PS3 or a PC does make it irrelevant outside of a few exclusives (and LIVE, if you're into that, which I am). In that case, yes, the Wii would be a better investment. However, objectively, how can one even claim that the Wii is a better console than the Xbox? It's baffling to the mind.

How much do you want to bet though that most of the people who criticize the 360 don't have all the consoles though? And when it comes down to having all the consoles and a high end PC you're bassically owning a 360 and PS3 for only a hand full of games a year.

The Wii is a great deal better than the N64. Not only are there much more games on the Wii, but the 1st/2nd party Wii line up crushes the N64 counterpart.

As a console, the N64 is so much better than the Wii that it's not even funny. The Wii is Nintendo's worst system till date. This includes all their handhelds.

By all means, if you think that charging for an online network negates and nullifies all the other advantages that the Xbox offers over the Wii, then go ahead and pick the Wii. However, this comparison comes off as a joke to me more than anything else- I appreciate some Wii games, but I have never been more disappointed or burned by a console than I was with the Wii.

I disagree. Alot of the Nintendo's N64 games are fan favorites and genre defining classics. The same can't really be said of the Wii's games save for maybe the Super Mario Galaxy titles.

It's just opinions, some people don't need a 360 to play ganes they can play on their ps3 or pc. I sold my wii for a 360 bcuz my first 360 got stolen and I regret it.

I love Mario and Zelda as much as the next guy- maybe even more, Zelda is my all time favorite series after all- but can Nintendo first party exclusives actually be better than the ENTIRE CATALOG of the Xbox? If it were just first parties, or exclusives, I'd agree that the Wii is better, then it's not even a competition, the Wii wins thoroughly. However, the question is asking which is a better console overall, and for the final time, there is more to a system than its exclusives.

If I had to chose between the two and only own one system I'd still pick the Wii. I'd take SMG, MKW, Skyward Sword, Muramasa, Monster Hunter, Rune Factory, DKCR and other Wii games over all the mainstream blockbuster multiplats. That's just me.

Yeah and I guess the original Crash Bandicoot is better than every game on PS3 as well. Seriously man, try actually playing games on a console before bashing it.

I may be wrong, but I think a 250 GB Xbox comes with a headset, a hard drive, a controller and built in Wifi... what essential accessory is it missing?

Even then charging for online is enough reason for not choosing the 360. I don't appreciate feeling ripped off.

Oh I think the Wii is a disappointment too but still. The RROD alone was more of a disappointment than anything the Wii could ever be IMO and charging for online is for me the most ridiculous thing this gen.

The Wii is a great deal better than the N64. Not only are there much more games on the Wii, but the 1st/2nd party Wii line up crushes the N64 counterpart.

charizard1605

I disagree. Alot of the Nintendo's N64 games are fan favorites and genre defining classics. The same can't really be said of the Wii's games save for maybe the Super Mario Galaxy titles.

And Brawl. And Skyward Sword, maybe.

Brawl is maybe better than the original Smash, I'll grant you that(although I still prefer the original), but I don't think it was a well received a Melee. Skyward Sword, we'll just have to wait and see, it's not even out yet and so I don't think it's fair to include it into the debate.

[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]Another scenario would be most gamers owning more than just one or two systems so the 360 becomes irrelevant when they own a PS3 and/or gaming PC. That's what not having enough quality exclusives does for your system.

Bigboi500

How much do you want to bet though that most of the people who criticize the 360 don't have all the consoles though? And when it comes down to having all the consoles and a high end PC you're bassically owning a 360 and PS3 for only a hand full of games a year.

Really though this isn't xbox 360 vs Wii+PS3+PC

It's 360 vs Wii

If I had to chose between the two and only own one system I'd still pick the Wii. I'd take SMG, MKW, Skyward Sword, Muramasa, Monster Hunter, Rune Factory, DKCR and other Wii games over all the mainstream blockbuster multiplats. That's just me.

Fine, that's great. That's your preference. However, don't you find it fishy that most people on here dismiss the Wii for not having those mainstream titles, and then when it is compared to a system that HAS all those mainstream titles, it still somehow manages to win? What is it, System Wars? Do you prefer the Wii's exclusives to all the big budget titles released this generation, or not? You can't have it both ways, you know.

As a console, the N64 is so much better than the Wii that it's not even funny. The Wii is Nintendo's worst system till date. This includes all their handhelds.

The Wii has far more third party support than the N64 ever had, N64 was almost nothing but Nintendo and Rare. The N64 had a terribly limited library.

The only 1st party Nintendo titles from the N64 that can still stand against their current iterations are the Zelda games and I'm not even sure if that will hold true after Skyward Sword.

I know things on N64 were ground breaking at the time, but what does the N64 really have that stands up to the Wii today?

And yet that limited library was so far ahead of its time and so defining that people still talk about it to this day. How many Wii games will we be talking about fifteen years from now? The Mario trifecta, Brawl, and maybe DKCR and Skyward Sword...?

You need to compare each system for its time. Comparing the N64 as it is today to as the Wii is today is unfair.

Playing James Bond Goldeneye on N64 is better than playing any game on the wii

Yeah and I guess the original Crash Bandicoot is better than every game on PS3 as well. Seriously man, try actually playing games on a console before bashing it.

I've played the wii enough times to know it sucks

Wii. It has a larger variety of exclusives than just shooters with the occasional racing sim/jrpg.

Well of course its not fair, because the Wii is better.

The original post that started this conversation was a guy saying that the N64 is better than the Wii (the same guy that said Goldeneye is better than everything in the Wii library).

Of course if we compare them for their place in time things are different, but I'm not doing that at all. I'm simply comparing two consoles for what they are.

Xenoblade is the only 3rd party Wii game that even breaks 90% on gameranking in addition to RE4... which is a port of a last gen title. And Xenoblade is more of a niche title that wasn't even release in a whole lot of regions.

While the 3rd party support is an improvement it's hardly something to write home about.

The Wii is better because it has all the improvements that are expected of it (although not to the extent that it should- it has online, but how laughable is that? It has better graphics, but they're barely a generation better than the N64's. It's controller is not necessarily better than the N64's). As a system, the N64 was revolutionary, and we will probably never get anything else like it. The Wii... well, the Wii was a mistake, plain and simple.

It's funny how everytime a poll here goes against the 360 you hear all this "it's because its cowspot talk" to justify it. But when the 360 wins a poll you don't hear that at all. I wonder why. Maybe just maybe the 360 is not as good as some people's opinions here think it should be.

It's pointless to say this group says this, that group says that, because we all don't see the same things or experience the same things. Everybody has a different preference and experience, whether it be on System Wars or when they fire up a game system.

It's not that hard for me to believe that a lot of people don't particularly care for the Xbox 360, for whatever reason.

Oh... Well then after RE4 is Okami with 89%.... Which is another last gen port... So the highest rated 3rd party Wii game that isn't a last gen port is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10... Which is multiplat.

360 has like 10x more exlusives i care about

Wii has only two really for me, Zelda SS and Muramasa
