Nintendo sold their fans down the river and created a crappy system with last gen graphics and pretty much added a motion sensing controller to a gamecube. You can argue that the wii is about gameplay and not graphics but its already been 8 months and where are the games??

The graphics are actually decent, and are good enough for what they need to do. The controller, when used by the developers correctly, is responsive and can make a game that much more immersive. ]

The Wii did nothing to sell its fans short. If Nintendo would have made a 360/PS3 clone, that would have been a disservice to its fans. At least the Wii stands apart from the other two, and gives a reason to own more than one system.

The Wii's graphics, while not as good as the 360's or PS3's,can still look good.I,personally, think that Super Mario Galaxy looks beautiful. And when utilized correctly, the Wii-mote can enhance a game, but only when utilized correctly. And there are games. They've been coming out since the Wii launched.:| Some are pretty fun.

The Wiimote is a Gimmick does that make it bad.....No

Study your gaming history many retailers and "Experts" said that the NES would fail because the idea of using 4 arrows to move was a Gimmick.

The only way Nintendo was able to get stores to carry them was calling them entertainment centers and not a video game system.

It's agood thing Nintendo makes a living perfecting crappy gimmicks, I love playingWii.Do you think Microsoft or Sony would ever develop that kind of dedication to anything else except processing power? I think not.

Even if the graphics were 360/PS3 level, and the controller was still standard, you'd bash it regardless. And the graphics aren't that bad in motion, and I'd pick the motion sensing for games like Zelda.

Yeah that's what developers said....they're transfering all their resources into the jam department, last months NPD charts said jam outselling jelly 323:1, condimentwars.com says otherwise though

Jelly is a clear, bright product. It is generally made by cooking fruit juice and sugar with pectin as a jelling agent and lemon juice as an acid to maintain a consistent texture. Jelly is firm and will hold its shape (it "shakes"). Generally, jelly contains no pieces of fruit, although specialty jellies, like pepper jelly, may include pieces of jalapeño or other pepper.

Jam
is made from crushed or chopped fruit cooked with sugar, and often pectin and lemon juice. Jam can be a purée of fruit or have a soft pulp, but it does not contain chunks of fruit.

Preserves
are fruit cooked with sugar to the point where large chunks of fruit or whole fruit, such as berries, are suspended in a syrup base. The texture of preserves is not smooth like jelly or jam.

Marmalade is a soft jelly, often citrus-based, that includes both the flesh and peel of the fruit suspended throughout the jelly base. The bitterness of the peel offsets the sweetness of the jelly.

Conserve is a mixture of more than one fruit, often with added nuts and raisins, that is cooked until it becomes thick. It is used as a spread for breads, pastries and meats, and in the latter use is closest to chutney.

Chutney
is a spiced condiment of Indian origin (chatni is the Hindi word for strongly spiced) made of fruit or vegetables. It is typically served as an accompaniment to food, not as a spread. The spice level can range from mild to hot, and the consistency from a fine relish to a preserve or conserve. Fruit chutney consists of chopped fruit, vinegar, spices and sugar cooked into a chunky sweet-tart-spicy mix: according to one explanation, it "blurs the Western distinction between preserves and pickles."

Fruit Butter
, such as apple butter or prune butter, is fruit purée or pulp combined with sugar, lemon juice and spices, slowly cooked down to a smooth consistency. The "butter" refers to its spreadability: there is no actual butter in the product.

Fruit Curd is a creamy spread made with sugar, eggs and butter, generally flavored with citrus juice and zest.

Fruit Spread is generally a reduced-calorie product made with fruit juice concentrate and low-calorie sweeteners replacing all or part of the sugar.

well jam is considered the much more user freindly material, jelly tends to have a far more specific demographic, most noobs will stay with jam and stick with it... jams really killing the whole spreadable industry

Nintendo is trying to make up for the money they lost on the development of the Wiimote. At launch, Nintendo was actually selling the system at a loss because of the controllers, however it was only like a 20 dollar loss or something, which they have already recovered. I would not be suprised if Nintendo dropped the price of the Wii near the holidays this year, giving more incentive to buy one for anyone who wants multiple consoles, I see a PS3 price drop imminent as well now that Sony is selling their standalone Blu Ray players for 299-499 USD. However I also believe that Nintendo might opt to not drop the price of the Wii so they can make more money, depends on how sales go for the rest of the year, so far its been consistant, whereas the competition has had really slow sales for most of theyear.

Well jelly (as its name implies) fruit juice in a gelatin form. Jam is more pulverized fruit into a paste like texture. Not sure about marmalade, from what I could tell it still has bits and chuncks of fruit still in it.

I am intrigued. I have never eaten peanut butter, but you americans speak of it like it's the best thing that happened to bread. It isn't very popular here in Europe, at least not where I live. Jam on the other hand, is more prevalent. I'm not a fan though.

Agreed 100%. These Wii bashing threads are getting old. Been there done that, let's move on people.

We are moving on... TO PEANUT BUTTER!

Oh, and crunchy is the best, hands down. Get that with it's tried-and-true "White Bread" controller and the killer app "Grape Jelly" (AAAA for sure) and you have next-lunch dominance!

I don't think the Topic Creator was expecting the result that the poll is giving.

Did 4 arrows sell the system to millions of little kids and their mums? no

Well can you give me a good exempel on a game when the wii motion sensing makes the games more immersive.

Look at zelda made bye NIN the GC controller is far more superior to use in zeldathen thewii nunchaka. The same problem in call of duty sure its easier to aim but its harder to throw grenades and duck for enemy fire thenin the ps3/Xbox360 versions.

And look at Brawl isnt that weird if now the motion sensing is the new way to play games as NIN says it iswhy do they thengo back to a regular control for brawl

Disagree here. The crunchy just lacks that 1080p appeal, and the grape jelly is just a rehash of strawberry. You need some creamy PB and strawberry jelly to make it a "next gen" sandwich. And forget that white bread. Red ring for sure on that one!

see, theyre happy with the graphics.

samusarmada

Hey! I posted on that thread! Yay!

I'm not complaing about the Wii graphics. They are good graphics. I would be complaing if they wee ugly graphics. But they are smooth and clean and good on the eyes.

Well, I DO like peanuts. I'll give it a try one of these days.

About the yeast extract... Honestly, I didn't know what yeast was, so I checked it up. Apparently, they are "a growth form of eukaryotik microorganisms in the kingdom Fungi". Live and learn.

Eukaryotik microorganisms, now THAT'S what I call tasty.
