[QUOTE="kruesader"]I agree, but the Wii online capabilities are ruined by Nintendo's aversion to a proper online system and the lack of a hard drive.nintendo-4life
hardrive is not that big of a problem if they allow full access to SD cards

That cannot and will not happen because of the way the hardware is set up. As it is, the Wii doesn't even support SDHC, which would limit you to under 2GB right out the gate. But yeah, you're only allowed limited read access off the SD card on the Wiis that are out there right now.

pretty obvious you don't have a Wii and don't use VC so until you do come back to me.Shift05

Its pretty obvious that you have never used XBL marketplace to even say the Wii has the best service for downloads. You might as well made this thread about how you feel VC is better than XBLA and PSN arcade games, because that is all you are talking about. Downloadable content includes much more than just arcade titles (Which is the only feature the Wii offers in downloads at this time). It's far from the best when it has nothing else, while all of the other consoles have many more services. I'm not going to act like the 400+ downloadable content that the Wii has nothing like, doesn't count because the Wii doesn't have it.

i have seen the market place, and actually did some downloads, i'm not saying it's bad but what Wii offers is so much more!

TV shows, trailers, movies etc. don't really matter since you can actually find them in superior form elsewhere. I for one actually use the VC a LOT more than the Xbox market place, but as usual you like all the other fanboys are going to discard what i say because you think i'm a fanboy who doesn't even own an X360, I unlike some people only speak to what I know of.

heres a few answers:

wii now has BBCiPlayer (all programs on bbc)
PSN has streaming capabilities as well, for a couple months now. XBL may be behind in this feature, but you can at least stream any video that is downloaded on your computer to your 360 / PSN.

everybody's nintendo channel owns xbl in trailers, it has trailers for every game..........
XBL has trailers for every game for the most part, as well trailers for movies, TV shows, and arcade titles. Is "everybody's nintendo channel" even available outside of japan?

downloadable ds demos, not quite as good but still good.
XBL has demos for pretty much every game, including XBLA titles.

Wiiware=VC>xbla>psn
Wiiware hasn't even been released in the US yet, it doesnt compare to something XBL has had for 2 and a half years.

sorry but just look at the games that have been announced to launch with wiiware, it has so many great looking ones coming at launch

comments in Orange

all of this will release in the next month you know...

So Wii can do every aspect of online gaming well, with the exception of ONLINE GAMING. Well done.

You stated that the Wii has the best downloadable service, TV sows, trailers, movies, etc.. are apart of this service. You may be able to find them in a Superior form elsewhere, but how does that change the fact that the Wii offers nearly nothing, if not nothing in each of those categories. I can play every VC title in its form that is on the Wii else where, so I might as well discredit that as well.

TV shows + Movies + demos + XBLA/PSN > VC by itself as far as downloadable services go.

So sheep are trying to say Wii's online is best in downloads? Of what? VC Games?. Considering you can't download anything besides WiiWare games and VC games I doubt that (Streaming isn't downloading).

Also DLC + No Harddrive = Epic Fail.

Theres a reason people compare XBL to PSN and not to the Wii's online service. The PSN is actually worth comparing. Considering the main point is online multiplayer and the Wii's online service just fails at that.

I don't care what you think you know it's true, the VC alone puts both XBLA and PSN to shame, add that to Wiiware and W00t. Furthermore, i know PS3 can do online surfing but it can be so much of a hassle without the comfort of the Wiimote.

they just need to step it up with the communication and it's golden.

nintendo-4life

I don't get comfort using my wiimote with the internet. And no, VC doesn't put XBLA to shame. Updated visuals for games released on the XBLA, and achievements. Online, too. Any VC games update visually and online? Probably not.

Don't get me wrong, I love the VC (I'm hooked to Mario Bros., LoZ, and Mario 64), but it isn't blowing XBLA out of the water, PSN...eh...maybe.

i like that you can play a trial demo of ANY game that they sell on XBL marketplace. can you do that on the Wii? how often do people download games on the wii and hate it? all the time i bet.

and of course demos of non-xbl games is great too. saves you $. but nintendo hasnt figured out how to get demos loaded up yet. and really without a hard drive built in, they should just avoid demos. most demos for the 360 are around 1gig or so. wii demos would probably be a little smaller, but not by much i bet.

no actually it would be much smaller due to the fact that there is HD involved.

While I love the VC (although it loses some worth if you already own and have played many of those titles), it does not have a lot of what the other services have (and it can not b/c it doesn't have an HDD to store the data) such as demos, trailers, dev diaries etc.

And if I want to surf I would use my PC.

why do you need a download service if you're going to use your PC anyway? :|

Nice try, but see those downloads are associated with the games of the system. Care to try again?

your etc. takes your argument elsewhere, furthermore trailers can be viewed on a PC as well as movies and TV shows etc.

i'll give you demos and dev diaries, however Everybody's nintendo channel will have something similar.. not as good though.

finally, in addition to Wiiware it really looks like nintendo has something going on, mind you they have a long, long long LONG way to go with online, but on those parts AT LEAST, they have done justice.

I don't care about movies and TV shows, my comments are about games (you decided my etc. went that direction).

I agree with you that Nintendo could (and for sake of reality, should) stand to do many of these things, but it has not and possibly can not for a whiel to come. So claiming it best when it really fails on many fronts (at this time) is premature imho.

what else is there besides demos and diaries? :? ..... DLC IS coming to wii, GH 3 will be the first to use it as well, as a package from Wiiware.
