@m3dude1: At least we don't say we're the best SC player in amerca... Cows like to exaggerate their games to an extreme
@MBirdy88: Did I say Shit about jaggies? I'm talking about the suck ass animations and the fact it only has action when it's being rendered in space. I'm basing it off the new trailers. It's not a bad looking game by any means. But herms are acting like this is 2007 again with Crysis. I'm sorry but it's not.
the ship animations are fantastic... and the pilot interaction... what animations are you even refering to? the stiff avatar in the hanger? thats all I can give you credit on... although you should realise that the current player model is a placholder... in August they are revealing the FPS module of the game... with infantry combat.... so expect a big revamp on how the player moves/lookings/animates on foot.... unlike the ridiculous slow stiff guy atm.
I agree... its not a Crysis Jump... but its the best looking cryengine game to date... as considering its genre and the massive scale that will be involved, its an impressive/ambitious goal. looking at a little hanger and 1 to 1 dog fights and basing it all on that is ridiculous... the carrier ships will be 100x larger than them.... these are just the fighters.
The attention to detail in physics/destruction and animation is superb considering how early it is in development. but at the end of the day, its simply an updated cry-engine game.
This comparison is pointless.
The one game is designed with last gen specs in mind, the other is next gen.
also add into the fact that the nathan drake is a cutscene..... and naught dog's E3 trailers often look better than the end result.
After so many months, console gamers have still trouble to grasp that there new console is not more capable than a pc with a low-end GPU.
Not this generation.
Star Citizen is only runnable on GPUs more powerful than anything on the PS4 and Xbox One. Furthemore most assets in the game are lower fidelity placeholders. The whole game is being built for hardware more powerful than the consoles.
I'm sure Uncharted 4 will look fantastic when it's done because Naughty Gods. However the scale of Uncharted 4 will no doubtably be smaller than Star Citizen. They can focus the rendering on the immediate and have complete control of what the user is able to view at once. With Star Citizen they are looking at having up to 200 aircraft with anywhere between 250k to 2 million polygons on them, and that's not including character models.
The detail per model may be a bit less than Nathan Drake's but there will be dozens more on screen at any given time in a complete open world.
You can delude yourself with fantasies that $399 hardware from 2011 is going to outperform modern GPUs that alone cost as much as a PS4. That's not going to make it happen and you're just setting yourself up for disappointment.
We've hit an era where even the weaker machines can do absolutely fantastic graphics so it doesn't really matter.
@KillzoneSnake: and most of them are boring as sin. Thats why my Wii U has 17 games, and my PS4 has 1 (my xbox one has 7)
First of all the order is 1920 x 800 with 4xmsaa which is more bandwidth demanding than 1080p itself.
nah we've had enough of ridiculous comments like that.
the ps4's power is a constant, they'll try use it all up to produce the best looking visuals whether it's at 1920x1080, or a lesser resolution like 1920x800.
...and The Order runs at only 30 FPS.
30.
(1920 * 1080) * 60 frames per second = 124.4 million pixels per second rendered.
(1920 * 800) * 30 frames per second = 46 million pixels per second rendered.
1920x800p MSAA 4X consumes more memory bandwidth than 1920x1080p.
Of course it will... not this gen though, and the way they spec their consoles, maybe not the next one either :p
I wouldn't be surprised if next gen consoles used an Nvidia Tegra or something.
Maybe. Personally I think Star Citizen's graphics are overrated there are other linear games on PC that look better.
@MBirdy88: Since when?
elaborate?
You said Naughty Dog's E3 trailers usually look better than the final product, which is false.
You're gonna lose this argument so don't even try.

0I dont need to try, you peasants buy into every fluffed up e3 trailer. look at how stupid this forum is going over Assassins creed... and that Watch Doge crap.

Who are you calling a peasant? I primarily play on my PC. And wasn't it hermits that went ape shit about Watch Dogs graphics when it first got revealed?
not until the next generation of consoles at least; since it's being developed for the current high-end hardware, which is already beyond what the current generation of consoles are capable of.
My last PC which is now relegated to media center duty is still beyond what the current generation of consoles is capable of.
That would be pretty sad if next gen consoles cant surpass a PC game from 2014 when they eventually come out around 5 years from now. So my bet is yes, next gen consoles games will surpass SC in graphics when they release.. Well maybe not Nintendo's next console, but PS5 and Xbox 4 will.
If we're talking PS4 and Xbox One reaching Star Citizen graphics, obviously no.
But given that Microsoft pretty much confirmed there will be another Xbox, via Phil Spencer's recent comments, as well as the inevitable PS5, with both systems expected before the end of decade, then yes. I would even be bold enough to predict that a far more complete (but ever-evolving) version of Star Citizen will be a launch title for the next gen consoles.
Microsoft & Sony would no doubt both want to be able to market this kind of experience for next gen:
New video:
Given that EVE: Valkyrie is coming to PlayStation VR on PS4....
Certainly we will see Star Citizen on PS5.
Sure they could, but not on a scale as huge as star citizen, and of course with the terrible image quality and resolution console gamer's have come to love
well yeah, next gen they likely will. It is not like technology suddenly stopped evolving.
Ah fudge, Necro QQ
Graphics aren't everything. The game can look good but play like shit. I'm perfectly satisfied with what I have. dude I still play Mega Man and old Super Mario on NES.
