[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"][QUOTE="kittyloaf69"]It'll be the best looking average shooter available.kittyloaf69Crysis? Average? Yes. Besides the graphics, I really didn't like Crysis at all. The fact that you didn´t liked it doesn´t mean that´s average.
If it was average,it wouldn´t have got FPS of the year over Halo 3 and CoD4,and GS(and many, many others) wouldn´t have called it one of the best FPS ever made.
Even though i like KZ2 graphics and i think its about equally impressive to UC2,Crysis 2 on consoles and PC of course will beat them in style.nothing in those two games compare to what Crysis 2 does on consoles in open world environment,ok maybe KZ2 post processing(who likes it) and some UC2 vistas, other then that, nothing.

tech + graphics = awesome. truely awesome.
gunplay + gameplay = not awesome.
if it's so awesome then why do I choose a 9 year old game as my multiplayer fix of choice day after day?
for multiplayer Crysis sucks. For single player? I love Halo as much as the next guy. But gunplay and overall gameplay? even if there are points where the game felt very tech demoish with some of its elements. When the game is on, nothing is as exciting and versatile as Crysis's I came I saw I conquered gameplay sty-le. Crysis is at the least a progressive attempt at a FPS. A damn great one at that.Average shooters don't score 9.5 out of 10. False. Stop saying things that are blatantly wrong.
Crytek UK was NOT purchased to be a "console team." Crytek Frankfurt is doing all 3 versions of Crysis 2. And the work on CryENGINE 3 is spread out between all of Crytek's studios, but is mostly focused at the Frankfurt and Budapest offices.
Crytek UK, is primarily focused on developing its own IP development, but as with any major studio, there is a certain level of crossover between projects. Crytek UK is assisting on Crysis 2, but it is NOT tasked with doing the "console versions."

They weren't hired as a console specific team. They were hired as a satelite studio in the UK seeking to attract the talent that has been the driving force behind a large number of developers within the UK. Crytek purchased them with the intention of using that studio to attract talent from the UK. It had NOTHING to do with "console specific development," because as with all projects currently being worked on by Crytek, the games made at Crytek UK will be completely multiplatform and optimized to take full advantage of PC technology, as well as taking full advantage of the consoles. And just to clarify, Crytek UK was not brought in to work on the console versions of CE3. The first CE3 tech demo was shown 1 month after Crytek purchase Free Radical. If they managed to get a workable console version of the engine up in less than a month, then Crytek managed to hire gods among programmers. Crytek UK is not a technical studio. It is primarily an IP studio, working on developing new and existing IPs. This is in addition to serving as a satelite studio to attract talent within the UK.

Close. I'm saying that Crytek lacks console development experience, and when they went shopping for such experience, that they purchased HAZE-caliber talent. It's entirely possible that Crytek will surprise me with a top-notch console title, but without their excuse of "we wrote it for next year's hardware" to fall back on, I don't have high expectations.[QUOTE="organic_machine"][QUOTE="TheSterls"]

They had already created the console versions of CryENGINE 3 prior to the Free Radical acquisition, so it doesn't make sense for them to want to go after a studio to work on the consoles when they had already achieved a workable engine on the consoles with their existing teams(not just that but a top tier console engine)Crytek UK was purchased because it was convenient to their plans for expansion. Within Europe, the UK is a major source to talented artists, programmers and designers, and if Crytek wanted to expand they needed to make a satelite studio within the UK. As I have said NUMEROUS times, Crytek UK was purchased for reasons OTHER than console development. It didn't hurt, but that was hardly the primary motivating factor in the purchase.

I don´t think he said that.I don't understand... why is it everytime one graphics king topic dies off someone insists on reviving this dead horse. Crysis 2 will be the best visual game on consoles. There's nothing more to add... if you care so much you could argue that KZ2 has better gameplay than Crysis. I found Crysis gameplay novel at best how it got such high scores was suspiciously EA's fault I believe.

Crysis is not like the corridor shooters with scripted and linear approach.
In order to play Crysis properly and have fun with this game you must have a strategy make decisions before walking into the crossfire it is NOT like run and shoot everything
Crysis is definitely the best fps of all time.

No it isn't. A quick journey to Metacritic and GameRankings shows that ... And ironically, in 1st place (highest rated game overall on PC) is a very linear and scripted game ...
It will probably take the console technology king crown. Talking about KZ2 - it has so many details and graphical effects it's amazing. Probably the best among the console games in this regard. Just slow down a bit during a campaign and you will see. But most of them are just neat effects + smoke and mirrors. Crysis 2 will surely have more raw technological power but I bet it all will be bland compared to all the details GG put into Killzone 2.
