If anyone recalls, the information was leaked back in 2006 that Bethesda almost didn't fit E.S. 4 Oblivion on one 360 disc, but they did some extra texture compressions and made it fit on the one disc, but it came with the price of slow downs, pop ups, freeze ups and so on.
Which is probably why the PS3 version of the game runs so much smoother, hardly any compressed textures on a 50gb capacity disc.
Which is proven with the G.O.T.Y. Oblivion on 360 it's on 2 discs, on PS3 it's on one.
Now there is speculation that Elder Scrolls 5 will be bigger in scale than it's predecessor and most definitely won't fit on a DVD-9.
You 360 fans getting it yet ? this is what i've been talking about, eventually games will exceed DVD-9 capacity and one day you'll be stopping mid way through a game to do some disc switching, even with compressed textures accept now you'll have compressed textures on 2 discs.
As games get more graphically detailed and bigger in scale they will require more gigs of storage on disc and the 360 media simply won't have the space, and games system analysts Michael Pachter already said Microsoft will never put a Blu-Ray drive in one of there consoles because it's a Sony product and they never want to pay royalties to Sony.
Wow stinks to be a 360 owner, but i'm feeling pretty good about being a PS3 owner about now.
Free online play, 320-gb stock hard drive, Blu-Ray storage and movies, included rechargeable controller, and in my opinion better exclusives, not to mention the reliability of being made in Japan.
