Honestly I don't think we will see anything significant until 2017 fro the game or at all it seems FF15 has been through development hell and it seems like this game could end up the same way especially with the same people involved in its production. Hopefully they learn from their mistake but knowing SE this may not end up how we want.

actually the old FFs had very good stories, in fact, i think the ff xiii trilogy had great mythos, is such a shame they made huge mistakes

a. they explained it in the info tab, which, let's face it, very few of us actually read

b. they focused on the whiny and annoying characters instead of the interesting lore

c. it was stuck in a game that did everything else terrible.

Hard to say. They may want to get this out for the 20th anniversary of FFVII, therefore shooting for a 2017 release. If so, I'm guessing we could expect a 2016 release for FFXV by the end of next year with KH3 sharing FFXV's 2016 release or FFVII's 2017 release.

Pure speculation on all of that though. Except for the part about the 20th anniversary. That will be in 2017.

The problem is that Nomura already stated that the story will not be exactly like the original FFVII. Im pretty sure that the original story can be improved but if modern Square Enix tries to to "improve it" they will most likely end up fucking the story up completly.

if they're redoing about every aspect of the game instead of just updating the presentation, but also overhauling the gameplay, shit it could take just as long to develop as any new game, maybe not FFXV long but maybe two or three years, considering they get a director on it who knows they're supposed to be directing the project.

Maybe they'll incorporate a way to save Aeris this time.

Except they already have the game engine ready and working, an impressive one at that. So this will cut any normal development time in half on top of the fact that they already basically know the story they want to tell

It would really suck if they did. The second half of the story builds on the death of Aeris. If Aeris does not die it would not be FFVII.

It's Square Enix and Tesuya Nomura. Dude didn't even know he was teh director AND is working on KH3, which went without footage for 2 years and still has no release date.

Not even "gameplay fooatge" would leave confident. Game won't come out this decade

I'd be positive if it wasn't for SE Japan's track record.

I saw an article about E3 and Square had the most games announced with no release date, ro the furthest away. And that's including their western branch, with stuff liek TB, Deus Ex, Just Cause 3, Hitman, etc. Can't find it though, sorry.

My point is, SE shows alot of projects, but doesn't deliver.

Their 2 main babies, FFXV and KH3, where announced 2 years ago, and no release in sight. Atleast not for KH3, but XV started has 13 Versus, sooooooo.

And let's not forget that this is the company who, 1 month afte releasing DQ Heries, annnounced a fucking sequel.

technically you cant delay something without announcing a release date first
