I swear after the delay they better get it right, smooth framerate with ZERO screen tearing. How can Epic be so incompetent? It's not like they don't have the money and resources, I just think they say,"hey, who cares, xbox gamers won't notice or care." Well, I won't be buying that crap if it's screen tear mcgear like the last two. It's a freakin shame too because they are really fun games but I just won't tolerate screen tearing.

That is the complete wrong attitude for system wars sir! Fun has nothing to do with it...if a game is an exclusive everyone that does not own that system will nitpick it to pieces. Please get your mind right before coming back in here!

Seriously? I think it's funny that you think these developers don't care about the gamers or that you think they're incompetent. Like they sit around a room and say, "How can we screw these guys next?" Because that's the most ridiculous attitude to have.

I'd rather they fix the shotgun. Bring the speed of the first back into the third.

I think you're thinking of UC1. That had horrible screen tear.

I've never seen even a hint of screen tear in UC2.

You my friend have won the thread.

If Gears 3 plays anything like Gears 1, then I'll consider to renew my gold subscription in order to play Gears 3.

Why does it matter? I hardly ever use v-sync in my games anyways. I'd rather have screen tearing than bad framerate dips.

And you think that v sync magically makes tearing disappear? I'm afraid that's not how it works.

Having v-sync and doing v-sync right are two very different things. That's the reason why so many games have that problem so often.

even if a game has a double buffer v sync on you won't notice the tearing, and that's what the majority of the console games use (if they use v sync)

if they use a tripple buffered v sync ( like uncharted 2 ) there's no tearing.

again, if a game has consistent and noticeable tearing then they don't use v sync at all.

well, yes i agree. but being unnoticeable means it doesn't really matter.

and again there are a few console games that don't have any whatsoever.

No No No, Google Google Google. Uncharted 1 most certainly did, however, Naughty Dog fixed that in Uncharted 2.

I have only played the first Gear but I'm almost positive it did not have screen tearing. It's something that really annoys me and I would have noticed. The game is in my collection so I will check but considering how much I have played the game I'm sure I would remember if it had it.

You know screen tearing is a option called vertical sync right here? http://i51.tinypic.com/2iszjgn.jpg it's up to the dev if they want v-sync on not. with v sync it locks your max framerate to your display's refresh rate and without v-sync you can run higher frames than ur moniter can actually refresh. lolol im a pc gamer i always leave my v-sync off dude. All v-sync does is lower framerate for no screen tearing. So u want a lower framerate rather than screen tearing?

Anyone who's been pc gaming like 10+ years will most likely keep their v-sync turned off like me , the tearing only bothered me when i first started pc gaming pretty much, but it lower's ur framerate and the trade off isnt worth it no lines for lower fps. screen tearing doesnt bother me one bit.

Even if i could run at game at 1080p with v sync on 60 hz meaning 60 fps locked, id rather turn off v sync and render like 120 fps with screen tearing.

screen tearing only happens when you move in a game, and when ur playing a fps ur too busy focusing on ur enemy rather than some little line u can barly notice.

I don't know what type of V Sync you've been using but it doesn't halve your framerate. And I'd much rather have 60fps with V Sync on than 120fps, you're never going to notice the difference between 60 and 120 fps unless you have magic eyes, whereas screen tearing is a lot more noticeable.
