I remember back in the day when Halo 2 came out. Everybody was playing Halo 2, and nothing else. Sure there was a few games in Counterstrike, Mech Assault, and Rainbow Six 3, but there weren't solid communities after the release of Halo 2. I know I will have a great time playing Halo 3 online, but it is a double edged sword because it will hold back the potential for other games to have large communities. What do you think?
Halo 3 will be the most played game on Live, same with Halo 2. But there will be a lot of people playing other games, there always is. When Gears came out and everyone was playing that there were still people playing other games. So while the majority will be in Halo 3, there will be enough people outside to play others.
Halo3 will hold a long lasting appeal to the 360 library. While it's appeal will out last that of any other game on any other console, there will always be the hardcore gamers that will hunt new titles and shift their attention to said titles.
I never play any game non stop, after playing hours of one game no matter how good its always refreshing to get in a few hours of another game and Im sure Im not the only one.

My only proof(if you can call it that) is when, as I stated before, Gears came out. This is about a month or two after release. Pretty much everyone is playing Gears now, but there are enough people in FEAR, which pretty much no one bought, for me to join and start playing. There are always people playing other games.

Actually, no. Who needs Killzone? There are many greater online FPSs coming out this year. And you can always go back to the classics (CS, anyone?).
I expect the other games will slowdown for a little bit when Halo 3 comes out but after a week or 2 then it will be back to normal. I know I lose interest after awhile and play the story or play something else.
I think Halo 3 will make my Xbox live more enjoyable, because I'll know all the foul mouth kids will be playing that while I can enjoy other games. Pretty much the age range 8 - 18 yrs., so I welcome Halo 3 being a forum for all these little babies to curse each other out on.  I just don't like dude's in metroid suit's shooting at each other.

In my experience with the Halo 3 beta, everybody on XBL is a bunch of deaf mutes. Really sad.
Gears, Halo 3 and UT3 should have a fair amount of people in them, along with other games...
That said, I'll be playing Halo 3 alot, but I'm not worried, because I know there are people who don't like Halo, or can't play Halo "all the time" so I can play with them in other games
