Will Lightning Returns be much better than the other two?

I haven't played FF13 or FF13-2, and I don't really want to, but Lightning Returns looks good. Will I be alright just going with that?

Already played it, better off playing 13-2 if you really want to play one from the series, all are mediocre though.

Are you worried about not understanding the story? Because i played and loved both of them and i dont understand the story either, so go ahead and get it if it looks fun.

Only played XIII, but that game was a masterpiece. Lightning Returns will be one as well.

I played FF13 and am playing FF13-2 now. I like both of them. The size of FF13-2 is surprising to me. The game is freakin' huge ... and gorgeous too. The Academia level is especially impressive.

I enjoyed both of them and cant wait for LR heck i got the LE pre ordered already.Though I will admit the story for the 13 games confuse me a bit.

Yeah, FF13-2 with its time travel and parallel universes and all that is confusing and I don't really get it entirely but oh well ... it's still a good game anyway.

FF XIII was mediocre. FF XIII-2 was an ok game, it was not worth playing though and easily forgettable. I personally don't have much hope for lightning returns. I'll still get it, but when it's dirt cheap. I'm not buying another FF XIII game day one

first two weren't great but they were good fun, I can see those that had higher hopes for the game for years being disappointed but I had no expectations and I found them rather enjoyable

Basically a Triple A budget mess.

2 opinions why not give it time.Also if you looked at the comments someone totally disagrees with the guy and really liked the game and actually gave a actually good response insted of a low brow comment like most of the negative comments on the site.

You expect a fap simulator to be better than the other two messy titles that deserve no more than 6/10? No sir, the fap simulator looks like crap and will be crap. FF is as dead as Resi.

Can't really judge that now, although I like the demo that I have.

played both XIII and XIII-2, both are fun and have some boring parts. so Lightning Returns will be alot like XIII-2 i think, since it doesn't have summons. but the boss battles in XIII-2 are really cool

I say get it. I enjoyed the FF13 universe because i went in there with low expectations. Don't expect FF10 or 7 or heck even 8 but it is a good game. It has above 80 on Metacritic for a reason.

I'm going in not expecting a good story, but rather to enjoy the combat system. It can't be nearly as bad as the original game, which killed the genre.

Looks like it'll be the worst of the series, not that I care I won't be buying it.

If you really believe that, I feel sorry for you.

I can't wait to finish it and I want the CE, but its to expensive. I'm gonna use the money to buy Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD instead.

Uh, well if you don't mind the fact that almost every games does not have a story and every time it tries to it retcons the last hour of the game and pretend it did not exist (which is how there are sequels in the first place oddly than sure, Just be sure to know that the people talking make no sense, nothing connects and the battle system is automatic.

Although lightening returns battle systems is slightly less automatic but the lack of any direction or anybody saying anything that makes sense is still there. Don't forget repetition, most weeaboos like that kind of stuff so if you are not one of them then you will be annoyed. Oh and recolors, got to have those recolored enemies.

Wheres the proof in that?I never ever got that feeling.Also if we are talking about critics there was a good amount of reviews that liked the game as well.It didint diswayed anybody from the jrpg genra.If anything at most it made some who didint like it iffy about FF and thats about it.

Chances are it'll be the worst of the series. I find it baffling that Square-Enix persist in forcing FFXIII down our throats instead of spending more time on the next game and trying to get the series back on track.
