Will microsoft die in the console buisniss?

Listen the 360 is solid but it really has few good exclusives alsots selling the least worldwide and in every country except for the U.S which it is in 2nd and sony just a bit behind.I few microsft as something wierd, i think theyll have 2 more consoles than just die and microsofts makes the most money of there PCS,which the MAC is overunning.So guys what do you think?(Forgot to mention,Microsoft has only 2 franises as well, the halo and gears of war franchise)

If Microsoft is making a profit, then they're still in.

No way! Microsoft has picked up way too much steam with the Xbox 360 to leave anytime soon. They have some great exclusive games, and they have a lot of them.

I dont know where the hell you are getting your facts from TC, but the Xbox 360 is not in last place in worldwide sales. It IS still beating the PS3. If you dont believe me, then look for yourself.

If you can't even spell the word business, then maybe this topic is a little over your head? To make things easier for you, I'm just going to say "no" to your question.

as a huge 360 fan, i hope this is the last console. i dont want to have to buy and commit to a whole new console. if microsoft makes a new console it will make the 360 obselete and if sony makes another it will be too damn expensive. Personally, i hope sony and microsoft will stop making consoles and just more games-SAMCRO

Compared to last gen, they have gained a bigger slice of the console pie, have a very respectable games library for a console even if some of the titles are not strictly 'exclusives' and from what I read on here the PS3 isnt really closing the gap. You may also want to add that its not just in the US where the 360 is very popular, here in the UK is is hugely popular.

But tis all irrelevant. As long as a company makes sufficient profit on a given item then it will continue to be manufactuered and shipped. The 360 is doing this so 'position' is not important.

M$ consoles won't go away fora long time, nor should it.

360provides a healthy competition for PS3, and as a results it's like an arms race between the 2 consoles but with games. Consumers benefit when there are competition to control the market.

No they won't. They're powerful enough to not drop out. Doesn't matter anyways. They make money, the 360 has the highest software attach rate, and the 360 is actually increasing it's lead over the PS3 even in times like now where apparently the 360 has no games coming out.

Sony is the only company right now that's truly hurting. They're losing billions, and they're laying off thousands of people. If anyone would have a reason to drop out it'd be Sony. Not MS.

Its completely ridiculous to say MS will die in the console business, people said the exact same thing about nintendo after the N64 and gamecube and look where they are now. MS havesignificantly more money than nintendo do even with the success of the WII and have a massive selling console aswell so they wont be going anywhere for a long while yet.

Considering the 360 is doing a lot better than the original Xbox, even with all the problems involving RROD, my guess is no.

Quite simply, Microsoft will not go anywhere. There's a big reason for this. They moved in to compete with Sony so as to keep the market of competition away from Microsoft's nest egg--software. If Sony's domination of the living room were to continue unchecked, they'd eventually have an inroad towards making consumer PC software and perhaps even Linux operating systems that would integrate tightly with PlayStations, eventually providing a possible viable alternative to Windows. This would be a nightmare scenario for Microsoft, so they stepped in to keep Sony from hurting the cash cow.

The 360 is second in worldwide sales, the PS3 is in third. You dont get to add PS2 sales.

No Microsoft will not died in the console business even when new xbox is out Microsoft will still keep 360 on shelve and still support it. like or not Microsoft is console is here to stay
