Likely not.

  1. Despite all their aggressive efforts to market the Xbox One, it's selling almost half as much as PS4 and (even with the third party) it's only selling slightly more than the Wii U.
  2. Windows devices is a plain more profitable endeavor for the company.
  3. Consoles are slowly going to die.

I think they will, but i'll be surprised if they release it anytime soon (next 3-4 years).

Honestly with the tie in to Windows 10 it wouldn't surprise me if they don't.

Yes they will, and if not a console, it will be some sort of xbox device that will let you play video games through your tv.

LOL! Fanboyism at it's worst.

The Xbox brand is part of the new Microsoft ecosystem. And, according to Microsoft, the XBox One is selling better than the 360 did in the same time period.

Thats like asking if sony were going to release a new PS after a couple of years into the ps3 lifespan when it was getting destroyed by 360. Yes ps4 is easily beating the xbo but the xbo has still sold over 10 mil consoles which is still selling faster then the 360 at the same period of their lifespan. Its not doing ps4 numbers but its still going extremely well

MS has confirmed several times there will be another Xbox and Now that Don Mattrick and Steve Ballmer are out of the way You can be damn sure it will be back to the normal where Xbox is the more powerful console.

YES they will make another Xbox, just like Sony will make another PlayStation.

The better question would be, will they sell XboxTwo sooner like how they sell Xbox360 sooner.

I would hope neither last as long as last gen. It'd be easier for MS to come out with a new console sooner, since Xbox One will be Windows 10. It'd kind of like buying a new computer - backwards compatibility should not be an issue.

Last week or so one of the gaming sites ran an article how PS4/X1 sales are 40% greater than the same time frame last generation.

Yes they most likely will. Spencer hinted at it the other day...

But anyway who cares about that now. This gen is just starting to get going!

It's more about how well the PS4 is doing, than any last gen failure. The PS4's sales rate is nothing short of astonishing.

I don't. Unlike the Wii U, the X1 and PS4 have the legs to go six to eight years. Additionally, the gen conversions hurt total game sales, so the third party publishers will want this gen to go as long as reasonably possible. The added cost of development that the next gen will have won't help it come any sooner either. Next gen's development costs are going to be absurd.

Also, the fact that PS4 is selling so remarkably well is a good thing for the likelihood of future Xbox consoles I think, because it shows that demand for consoles is still very high, and if you do it right, your console will sell.

What? Them consoles were already outdated on release and can barely run the games its got. And the slow arse download speeds, its unacceptable. Wii U knows what it is, these consoles are just weak wannabe PCs though.

Of course. The problem was they designed the console for one thing and abandoned it to go another way.

But what happened to them only ensures they won't try to innovate anymore, it's just not what the consumer wants. Why risk it.

Consumers always talk a good game, but never put their money where their mouth is. Sales for anything remotely innovative usually sucks outside of a few exceptions.

All MS has to do is copy and paste the 360 business model next time from the off and that's it.

No,they will make the Xbox like steam with how they are focusing on Live and Windows 10 so it is obvious.MS never cared about console gaming and never deliver for a full generation on exclusive games and I am glad that I never bought an box console in my life.I would rather buy a WiiU than an XboxOne.

I can't imagine what it's like to not only have this idea even work its way into your thoughts, but to actually sit there and go through the process of typing it up, then hitting the submit button without once realizing... "wow! What a dumb idea."

Outdated yet they will have much longer spans than the Wii U so what does that tell you? There are still new games being released on the 360/PS3 many years after initial release. The PS4 and X1 will keel over and die three years into life? Next year MS and Sony will be making funeral preparations huh?

@Solaryellow: Wii U is still kicking strong and has a dedicated install base behind it. Im no so sure they will have such a long life span. I think after NX releases, they will release soon. If they dont, they will take major blows from PC.

Of course you say the Wii U is doing great but apparently the shot callers in Kyoto think different.

Not one person disputes Nintendo's ability to make money.

In '17 the ps4/x1 will still be doing quite well. Will the same be said for the Wii U in '16?

I think they will release the HoloLens as a standalone product but I don't think it will take off and they will be left still debating whether to create another home console. I feel that they want HoloLens to be their Wii and they don't have the confidence in the Xbox division to ever make the company's money back at this point.

Yes, Wii U has Xenoblade Chronicles X, Star Fox Zero, Pokken, Zelda, Mystery JRPG, Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei, and others coming 2016. Plus they will still be playing all the other awesome Wii U game still.

Damn bro I am just replying to the thread lol. No,I got what I want, which is why I own a PS4.Sony always supports their console with exclusives during the entire consoles life-cycle unlike MS,which is my point. Why would I spend money on an Xbox for multiplat games when I can get the same games on PS4 and more or buy a WiiU for games that i can not get on other consoles?

I guess my comment using logic is pretty dumb.

I definitely think they will, although I have a feeling they might take the integration with PC another step and make it similar in nature to a Steam Box, especially given some of the adjustments they're already making with the One and its interaction with Windows 10.

When did I suggest spend money on anything you don't want? Why are you asking me?

I get what I want as well. Always a PS and an xbox, always the games I wish to play that the other doesn't have. I don't limit myself or pretend one really truly cares for the console. Pssst.........they're both corporations.............they care about profit.

Thing is people sprinkle their definition of logic into what they call logic. What could be illogical about what I do? If Xbox has some games I wish to play because you know, I like playing video games, why would I avoid buying it? Because they don't push exclusives to the same degree as Sony in the end of a gen? So then I should miss the games I want to play when I want to play them? How is that logic? Sounds more like emotion to me.

@Solaryellow: 10 million sold mate, plus Amiibo sales, plus an awesome attachment rate, i would say Wii U is doing just fine. If there is one thing Nintendo knows how to do, its make money.

Of course you say the Wii U is doing great but apparently the shot callers in Kyoto think different.

Not one person disputes Nintendo's ability to make money.

In '17 the ps4/x1 will still be doing quite well. Will the same be said for the Wii U in '16?

Say What?? There is no corporation on earth that would consider the WiiU a success. It has been bypassed in sales by bothe X1 and PS4 which came out a year later. Remember when that was a positive for the Wii compared to 360? But now it doesn't count? That console is a business financial failure just like the X1 is. Then he adds fuckin Amiibo sales to jack it up? Oh well X1 combined with Surface 3 sales and the X1 is doing just fine!!!!
