Will PS 4 sales suffer greatly if Uncharted 4 gets mediocre review like UC 3 or Golden Abyss?

Yourselfs = your opinion and your opinion wont make 90+ games look bad to masses so , you think UC3 is a bellow 70/100 games ? So be it ... Majority didnt give an F about your opinion and had fun with it including industry , critics and majority of fans. The only thing UC3 judged for was the fact that it wasnt better than UC2. That doesnt make it a mediocre game.

Its just your opinion and since TC asked for mine i came with facts and not just my opinion since 92 at meta out of 97 reviews is an achievement , far from mediocre. Now if you want just my opinion , all im telling is : UC4 looks phenomenal and plays phenomenal. Now the only thing might get it a below 7 score is if gameplay is really unresponsive and/or game is really short like 3-4 hours long. Nothing else can make this game a below a 7.

So lets wait and see.

No. I can see Uncharted 4's sales getting hurt a bit if it gets mediocre reviews. I don't think Uncharted 4 will get an average score below an 85 on Metacritic, but some reviewers may give it scores below a 75.

UC3 was a solid 9/10 in my book. Hell. I liked it better than UC1 and UC2.

I love the architecture of the Brass City.

Uncharted 3 reviewed and sold amazingly well. I don't know what a Vita game not made by Naughty Dog has to do with anything.

And no single game will ever impact PS4's sales. Unless M$ does something like buy exclusive rights to GTA 6 and Black Ops 4 they will never gain any ground whatsoever on PS4.

No. I liked UC3 as well. I actually finished UC3 first before UC2 even though I started playing UC2 earlier.

No Vita though. No successor for my PSP1000. I moved on to tablets for handhelds.

Uncharted 3 gets some flak from some people not being as good as Uncharted 2, but not many games are that good.

No problem, there are only a few good Vita games anyway :)

Most of what's good on Vita is a multiplat. So you don't miss out.

Lately I've seen so much hate for UC3 on these forums that it got me wondering.

Uncharted 3 to me was actually the exact same game as Uncharted 2 (which so many people love on here) but it has an option to throw back those darn grenades.

There are quite a few moments in UC3 that stuck with me.

@indzman: Do your research. Golden Abyss has NOTHING to do with ND's legacy as a developer.

Golden Abyss was not a Naughty Dog game, Uncharted 4 however is.

Also, Naughty Dog's last Uncharted game, Uncharted 3 was an incredibly high 92/100 metascore.

While not as high as Uncharted 2, both were still 90+. Naughty Dog's follow up to Uncharted 3, was another high scoring game...The Last of Us with a 95/100.

The last three games Naughty Dog made since 2009 have all been 90+. Uncharted 4 also has The Last of Us talent behind it.

Lastly, the PS4 sales won't "suffer greatly" whether U4 does well or not.

For example: 343's Halo 5 (84/100) had worse and lower reviews than previous Bungie and 343 Halos (not to mention all of Naughty Dogs Uncharted games) and Halo 5 is doing fine. Uncharted not even nearly as big as Halo is as a franchise, either.

It would seem that some folks put too much stock in reviews. I seriously doubt they hold much sway with most gamers.

A lot of people as in lems who have never played the game doing everything they can to convince people its a bad game. UC3 had an impossible task of being the follow up to one of the greatest games ever made and still delivered with great reviews everywhere.

Uncharted 3 has a 90+ score on Metacritic, it got great critical reception. Fan reception was admittedly mixed, but it got good reviews and sold well enough.

Even if UC4 were to bomb (which seems unlikely- no matter how disappointing it is, it will at the very least be a high 80s on MC) the PS4 will sell well, as it has so far without Uncharted.

Nah!!! Scores are fuel for fanboys, in real life ads, and friends are the only metric...And the second is much more important!!!

As for consoles, Ps4 is the real master, no matter what score UC4 will get...It will remain the leader for the rest of the gen.

Btw. i enjoyed Uncharted 3 more then Uncharted and Uncharted 2. So, i consider that Uncharted 3 is best in the series. Mediocre reviews for Uncharted 3? 92% at Metacritic? I mean WTF? That @indzman should do some research first before spewing some shit.

And also Golden Abyss isn't made by Naughty Dog. Game is good actually and i played the story campaign a little longer than in "bigger" Uncharted on PS3. Game is well made for PSV. And that game is also far from mediocre game - 80% at Metacritic

Pretty much this.Lets say that Uncharted 4 is a flop. PS4s will still sell. There will be no surge in Xbox One sales. Kaz could do that one video with that guy who is laughing uncontrollably about how everyone still bought it. PS4 will still sell. That one dude can come out with another Crash shirt, and build massive hype for 6 months and watch sales explode. Then laugh and announce that crash is coming to the ps4 through ps2 remasters. And PS4s will still sell. PS4 is a juggernaut. Its time we all embraced it.

PS4 isn't selling because it has amazing exclusives most of them suck with average scores and sales

The chicken is Xbone. Crocs are PS4 aka domination continuation. No matter what happens with a certain game, Crocs/PS4 will win. Sad reality of 8th gen because no competition isn't good to anyone. Xbox One has as much chances of winning as the chicken, right about zero percent.

Uncharted 3 was not great as Uncharted 2 and it got lower scores and praise than Uncharted 2.Golden Abyss maybe was not a ND game but as a Uncharted game it was not great either. Hence my worries for Uncharted 4 stands corrected :)

C'mon, a 9.5 (UC2) versus a 9.0 (UC3) is hardly cause for concern.

Crysis and Warhead have an identical situation (9.5 vs 9.0 here at GS). No one complained about that.

When Crytek deviated from the successful formula, the series went downhill. I suppose ND has similar risks too. But. I would think going with a more open world would be beneficial for UC4.

@indzman: If you say so. Here is my point of view. The last two games Straley and Druckmann worked together on were Uncharted 2 and The Last Of Us...Uncharted 4 could not be in better hands.

People aren't buying PS4s like hotcakes because of Uncharted. I love Uncharted but I know its not what is going to make or break the PS4's future success.

BTW, UC3 was awesome. Sure it wasn't quite as good as UC2, but it was still a lot better than Drake's Fortune.
