Will Red Dead Redemption 2 be 60 FPS on X1X and PS4 Pro?

There is something odd afoot that you wouldn't quite expect from a game that's been adamantly ported over to DX12. One would think that a few of the temporal effects, or even the AA methods used, would be offloaded to the compute queue, especially on the Xbox One version, which could benefit greatly from asynchronous compute. But though it's definitely DirectX 12, there doesn't seem to be anything actually being put into the compute queue at all. It's empty.

The PS4 Pro and Xbox ONE X are definitely capable of delivering 60fps, at 1080p, so if there is a 1080p mode then you should be good to go, don't count on 4k though.

wouldn't bank on it, gta v isn't exactly light on cpu, there might be a high performance mode, but will it hold 60? most likely not

A high-profile open world game I very seriously doubt they will have a 60 fps option. I never cared about this stuff before, not about to start now. I have Red Dead Redemption on the XOne(360 BC) and it looks and runs fine, good enough for me anyways. I'm sure RDR2 will be a nice step up and will look fantastic that's all I care about at this point.

The original RDR has 30 fps target. Without emulation, RDR is not available for PCs.

RDR2 aims 4K on X1X hence PS4 Pro's version would be somewhere 1440p level.

PC doesn't have RDR2 i.e. PC has zero frame rate since it's missing RDR2.

@davillain-: I own a ps4 pro and boost mode for fps increase and improved stability is pretty nice. Also I buy most of my games based on 60fps being an option.

Not everyone can spend a fortune on building a good pc. My pc was 600€ with i3 7100 + 1050 ti + 8gb ddr4 ram 1 year ago and my ps4 pro was 349€ with 2 games and controller.

Stop shaming people for not owning a powerful gaming pc . Not everyone can afford it. In Portugal and spain 600€ per month is what most people get. Some get less some a bit more. So stop with the "get a 1060 6gb is just 150€ more than 1050ti and while at it an i5 for 180€ instead of the 100€ i3 and get 16gb ram for 180€. most people cant spend double on pc just because you can

It will be 60fps on PC but not console. CPU is too shit. Price to pay being a console gamer, best get used to it. RDR2 will eventually go to PC

@davillain-: I've cared about fps, but I'm not one of those people that won't play a game because it's not a solid 60fps. GoW was definitely better in performance mode, as was tomb raider. Wish HZD was but it seems fine without it also. Hopefully with next gen systems, 60fps will be standard without a huge drop to visuals. *Fingers crossed*

Red Dead Redemption 2 will probably be 4K 30fps on the Pro and X and have the option to play it at 1080p at 60fps on the Pro.
