Will sony bring back killzone?

Remember killzone, that game sucked so bad, but I got to admit the graphics were decent for back then. Maybe kill zones will make its return now that cod is gone?

Depends on whether Sony sees FPSs as a crucial enough piece of their content portfolio to seriously invest in.

Going by their track record... ...I suspect not. But you never know.

Serves sony right for neglecting so many franchises people loved and just pumping out generic 3rd person action games over and over and over again.

It's sad and I was a big Sony fan in the PS1 and PS2 days.

Even if you like thier current first part, horizon, gow, last of us, days gone, all that crap is getting ported to PC.

Couldn't care less. They had a nice art direction in that game, but the story and actual gameplay always were trash.

Now, if they want to transform it into something like the Battlefield series, i am down.

I enjoyed the series but it seems like Sony has given up on anything that is not a cinematic third person game.

Sony should make a new IP that is a cinematic third person modern warfare shooter.

sadly yes...but now they might not have a choice, depending on what MS chooses to do with COD. Whatever the case, sony is probably on constant call with activision/MS right now trying to figure things out.

Honestly because it's one of the only decent MP FPS games on the system besides maybe Overwatch, oh wait Sony loosing that franchise too lol

COD just hurts because of casuals and hard numbers lol I don't think anyone saying COD is amazing. It's the other IPs that are brutal.

Spyro and Crash and THPS is the true blow to most gamers. COD exclusive would just be a blow for Sony casuals, how many casuals might go for an Xbox instead of PS5 for COD.

Maybe. I wouldn’t mind if they did. I played Killzone 2 and 3 and while I wouldn’t necessarily place them all that high on my list of favourite FPS games I did enjoy them well enough and they are definitely my favourite shooters in the Sony camp.

interesting...I said it as a joke, but maybe sony really does have some options left. Will wait for the sony killzone announcement this week.

Guess Sony will have to reinvest in Killzone, Resistance, SOCOM and MAG to face off against Halo, Gears of War, Doom, and Call of Duty.

Given Guerrilla is making Horizon games probably not until they probably need to take a break from that if they ever do, then they can reboot the series, or give it to another developer.

Sony suck so bad at shooters and multiplayer, they just gave up. For that reason, I think they should keep to what they do best with movie games. It works for them. They've nailed the 3rd person movie game genre.

Well since this thread is in response to the Activision purchase and Sony "needing" an online shooter ... they should bring back Warhawk ... I'd be fine with a cash grab remaster tbh

I want to see Killzone come back but not many other people want to. GG is good doing what they're doing now.

I'd love to see Killzone and Resistance make huge comebacks. Killzone 2 was the best shooter that gen and Resistance 1 and 2 weren't far behind.

Killzone had some pretty good multiplayer stuff. With a little polish, it could compete against COD.

I came here to say this. Resistance was actually a great game and it had some interesting ideas in it. It definitely should have kept going

I've always believed that Killzone was the perfect shooter for a semi open world format.

Should be more of a Half Life 2 kind of shooter.

I kinda liked the original Killzone for PS2. Killzone 2 was definitely an improvement and I liked it as it fixed everything wrong with the first game and showcase the power of the PS3. Killzone 3 I liked though it wasn't as good as Killzone 2. I never played Shadow Fall before. I think the future for Killzone is probably dead. I prefer to see Resistance Fall of Man return as I liked Resistance 2 alot and it was a blast online.

They should bring back Resistance instead.

They did plan on making more Killzone once, that cambridge studio that made Killzone Mercenary would've teamed up with main Guerrilla studio. But in the end they closed down the studio to focus on Horizon franchise instead I think.

sony doesn't care about resistance. After hearing so many people recommend it yesterday, I went over to psnow to browse their library...but nope nothing. No resistance 1, 2, but funny enough 3 is there. If they don't even give a shit about resistance to the point that the series isn't even on the craptastic psnow, then there is no hope of sony ever making a new one.
