Starcraft 2, at launch, EASILY. Mind you up to date, Starcraft 1 has sold 9.4 MILLION copies worldwide. Everyone has the capacity for PC gaming, especially SC2 since the game will ship with the PC and Mac version on the same disc. Also, it is one of the biggest games to be announced ever. You really can't compare this to SSBB. And i'm a gamer who LOVES SSBB, just two different leagues my friend.ShensolidusOk, but say SC2 doesn't sell as many as SC1 did, aren't there more than 9 million Wii's currently in peoples homes? Say that EVERY Wii owner buys Brawl (not even including future buyers) won't brawl sell more than SC2?

I dont think every owners gonna buy it
I choose these 2 games because SSBB is arguable the biggest game on the Wii and pretty much EVERY Wii owner is going to own the game at some point, and I choose Starcraft 2 for pretty much the same reasons, which game do you think is going to sell the most worldwide when all is said and done?catlin_czirr
Most likely. Starcraft is a worldwide phenominom. How many millions did the first Starcraft sell.

Melee sold over 6 million copies all together on the Gamecube . If Brawl doesn't out do Melee by a pretty large margin with the way Wii is selling, it should be considered a disappointment. But as far as Brawl vs. Starcraft....*shrugs*

There is no way it's sold less than 10 million. It's Korea's national sport. and I don't know about other people but I don't know a single , for lack of a better word, hardcore gamer that doesnt own it.

The number I keep seeing is 16 million worldwide. That's a LOT.

Wikipedia says 9.5 though, so who knows...
The worlds population has grown tremendously since SC1 so has computer ownership and the internet.
YYes people can still go buy SC1 today, but most people won't try to get into an old, old game...
So at the end of the day I think SC2 will crush SC's sales..
The better question is what will sell more GTA4 or SC2
Most Likely Seeing That There Are Millions Of Pc And Mac Owners In The World But Possibly Noy Because Of All The Piracy Around

The entire country of Korea is going to buy it. Think about it. Well not the North, damn Communists.

I really agree with your statement
I think Starcraft 2 is going to outsell SSBB by a rather significant margin.jethrovegasMelee is just now reaching 7 million. Starcraft 1 is still leading big atleast 3 million.

You need an original copy to play online multiplayer (blizzard's battle net). i don't think anybody is interested in starcraft 2 only for the single player. its an e-sport for christ sake. piracy will NOT be an issue with sc2. same as with world of warcraft.
IMO sc2 will sell much more than SSBB, specially in the long term. its my most anticipated game ever and i'll buy a copy for myself and copies for all my friends that i know that would be interested in the game at launch.:D
