Will the next gen consoles even be able to max crysis 3?

We have no idea. All we have are rumours for hardware, and not all that much info on Crysis 3.

And the consolite proceeds to cry about DMC and it's 30fps :lol:

1.Sony/Microsoft get massive discounts for hardware

2.Then sell the hardware for a loss

3.Devs spend the next 4-7 years optimizing for that 1 console

Hopefully we will get Crysis 3 graphics at launch, and work our way towards the Agni's Philosophy tech demo. (I doub we will get Agni's graphics though).

I think so.

By all impressions, the enxt gen of consoles will be like mid-range PC's of today. A mid range Pc of today can absolutley max out Crysis 3 at 720p 30-60 FPS (minus some of the most taxing AA of course).

It won't max it at 1080p though. My own PC can max out the Beta with SMAA x1 at 2560x1440 @ 60 FPS, but it's an SLI system with a 3770k processor at 4.6 Ghz. It's easily 3 to 4 times more powerful than a next gen console.

Thoughts? I do love console gaming but I fail to see how it could max the game at 60fps when a £400 gtx 680 can just about manage it, assuming the new consoles will be £350 if that! Am I missing something or are console players expecting way more than is Realistic?rosko123

Based on the rumored specs I believe they can run it with max settings 1080p 30fps if the engine is optimised well enough for the systems. I am fairly sure we will be seeing games that look much better then Crysis 3 in the coming years on the consoles. (at 30 fps still)

Hermits, you have to decide, either you love Crytek and Crysis or you hate Crytek for gimping Crysis for PC because of releasing on consoles, which side are you on?

I can see next gen launch titles being the same as current maxed PC games.

At 720p? I'd say yes. Perhaps the PS4 may at 1600x900. Maxing out Crysis 3 at 1080p? I think that would be asking a lot.

He didn't bash Killzone, all he is saying is that if KZ2 had vast maps(with huge view distance) will look a lot worse compared to corridors(with small view distance).

Sony press conferences aren't exactly renowned for being a haven of truth, especially on the eve of a new console releasing. If you want to believe the marketing bs, feel free.

On topic, no one outside of Sony or MS and their devs legally bound by a strict and binding NDA, really know what the next consoles are capable of. On top of that we haven't had our hands on the completed single player Crysis 3.

Personally I think it will be disappointing if they can't attain Crysis 3 graphics at 1080p and 30fps. My gut feeling though is they'll get there at 720p and 30fps.
