Hot shot golf 5, if you don't know will have much better sales then most of those games, and mgs4 ff12, and many other games will help boost ps3 sales alot aswell.

The 360 didn't sell 10.4 million. And I think that PS3 will probably be close to that number.Zhengi

The 360 wasn't selling anywhere near a million a month in 2006, but it somehow magically got close to 10 million with a piss-poor launch.  Holidays do wonders to companies' bottom lines.

If you mean sell 10.4 million to the consumer before Dec. 31, then it will fail just like the 360 did, but if you mean sell 10.4 million to retailers, which is what MS did with the 360, then yes.

PS3 will be at 5/6 million come Christmas, maybe..but it's got to pick up in Japan.

Going into the summer months, the Xbox 360 is certainly in a better position than the PS3.  A new unit (The Elite) has just been released and looks like it's doing pretty well, and then you have the summer game lineup for the X360.   Games like Mass Effect, Forza 2, and Halo 3 are definetely going to be big sellers and make the system even more appealing.

The only way that the PS3 could replicate the Xbox 360's success (in the first year) would be a breakout holiday season.  I don't see that happening in 2007 though.  I think that the numbers will be somewhere around 7-8 million which is pretty good.  I think the Xbox 360 is going to be pretty close to 16 million.

At this point, I don't think the PS3 is going to close the gap easily.  I remember a quote  from Krazy Ken(?) that even if the system didn't have any games it would immediatly sell 5 million units.  It looks like his prediction was wrong, as PS3 has struggled to hit 4 million almost half a year after launch.

I have a feeling the 2008 Christmas is going to be the breakout year for the PS3 in terms of sales.  We'll have to wait and see though!

And somehow they sold 800,000 after that in america and only shipped 500,000. They shipped 10.4 million, and sold around 8.4-8.8 million by then. If this is not true, then xbox 360 is simply a disaster. nextgengaming18

And you expect Sony's numbers to be more accurate how? They will also be shipped numbers and they will be less then 7 million.
