I sincerely doubt it. Only if 360 hardware sales just dropped to 0 for a couple of years. However, anybody with an IQ above 10 could tell you that would never happen.

sony supports every console they release for atleast ten years so thats why im pretty sure it will happen eventually, but 2011 is when i think it will happen. once theres a price cut it will sell like crazy

Not at the rate things are going. The gap has widen this year and keeps getting bigger, the 360 has an over 7 million units lead and at the rate it's going it will only grow, not shrink.

Eventually, yes I do believe the PS3 will outsell the X360, mainly because of the Japanese market.

However, I now doubt it will happen before the next gen of consoles are release. By then, nobody but cows will care. Everyone else will instead look at the bigger picture of how the PS Brand lost so much marketshare :)

It might eventually but by the time it does it will probably be so late that it will be completely irrelevant.

Indeed. Bringing us games like Resident Evil 4, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, REmakes, SSBM etc etc.

I just can not see the PS3 outselling the 360. People can scream about the year heda start all they want but it is not like the PS3 closed the gap at all since then but rather the 360 has just increased its lead more.rybe1025

True. Though the year headstart undoubtedly helped the 360. We would never ave known how it played out, had they released simultaneously.

imo. yes. with the 360's year and a half headstart on hardware, and good games, it is only ahead by around 6 million....which for that kind of head start is really laggingPS360_Gamer

I honestly don't think so.

Even if Sony drops the price within the next few months, Microsoft is in a far better position to match Sony's price drop with a price drop of their own. It's certainly possible that Sony could catch and surpass Microsoft before the generation is over, but that would require the Xbox 360's sales to drop off drastically or an equally drastic spike in PS3 sales.

If the 360 doesnt bring anything special this E3 and also if it loses this year.

And if theres a PS3 slim with price cut,360 will lose within a year.

I'm guessing that Sony will support the PS3 longer than MS supports the 360, so eventually it will happen.

If the 360 doesnt bring anything special this E3 and also if it loses this year.

And if theres a PS3 slim with price cut,360 will lose within a year.

I agree with this, it does depend on the E3. Not saying that the PS3 will outsell it, but there has been many threads about the 360's downturn and the fact that it seems to have a poor line-up this year. This year isn't looking good for the 360 at the moment.

I think if Sony have any chance to getting close, they have to do something about the price, I think the initial outlay puts people off at the moment.

Maybe in 10 years when no one cares anymore, and even that is doubtful.

And yet, despite this "downturn" and poor line up, the Xbox 360 has seen record growth in 2009.

Forgive me if I'm not buying the whole "The Xbox 360 is dying! :cry:" notion that System Wars seems to be so eager to perpetuate these days. Remember folks, what happens in System Wars is not indicative of what is happening in the real world.

The PS3 would have to sell more than 400,000 units a month while the sells 0 for... a while like 2+ yrs for it too catch up, I think I read this somewhere loi.

It's very unlikely that the Ps3 will surpass in sales but the end of the 360 life's span. Price, Psn vs Live and less quality multiplats are somethings holding the Ps3 back.

Also why even post this thread if all the Ps3 owners say "bu bu but sales don't matter" and "Psn has better games"?
