Will the PS4 succeed even if Sony abandoned the core gamer?

Now that Sony had abandoned the core gamer to go 100% movie, I don't really see a reason to get a PS4 over the superior Xbox 720. The 720 will have everything:

1) Games

2) Better fanbase

3) Would actually change their controller design

4) Will be innovative

5) Won't launch at 699 US dollars

6) Better support on Arcade/indie titles

Those things have made the 360 succeed, but the poor calves keep on making the 'it doesn't count' excuse. Since those things made the 360 the superior console to have, will those things defeat the PS4? Discuss

Sony will not abandon us. They didn't do it with the PS1, PS2, PS3 so why would they do it with the PS4? They are not like Nintendo or M$, Sony are based gods. They try to be the best at everything not just the best at what makes them the most money like M$ with Kinect that abandoned the core once they found their money tree.

Sony will not abandon us. They didn't do it with the PS1, PS2, PS3 so why would they do it with the PS4? They are not like Nintendo or M$, Sony are based gods. By the way, rumor has it that the XBox 720 will use BluRay, so Microsoft is abandoning you for movies as well :P

naughtydog was never a great developer want proof of that? Compare mario 64 to crash bandicoot 1# on ps1 lol mario 64 stomps all over it. sony used to have better studios under their belt and might still but they arent using them.nextgenjoke
