Extensive knowledge? LOL!! They just received the final Devkits the beginning of Sept. They haven't even begun to understand the new tech yet. You cows are trying way, way too hard. We'll start seeing some real knowledge of the hardward next year at the E3.

Sure, they can get any game to run in 1080p, it's just the amount of content that can be included to achieve it.

That's just the beginning. Turn 10 probably has had the most time with the hardware then anyone else.

Wait so when rumors hit that MS was behind it was just rumors, and not you people want to pretend that the hardware is doing bad because it is late..lol

Xbox 360 kits were also late last gen,to the point where gears of war was demo on E3 2005 on 2 6800 in SLI dude that happen all the time.

There hasn't been a change in hardware just a clock bump which in nothing change how things were working, the whole excuses is getting old, there are rumors about Activision asking MS to allow developers to use the extra 10% reserve for OS,apparently ESRAM is not only the problem the GPU also is,and i have been saying this for months.

The GPU is 1.18TF usable that is less than 7770 performance it doesn't matter how much bandwidth you have or cache,he GPU is weak to weak,at 1.31 TF is barely more powerful than a full 7770,the 10% GPU reservation put it 100Gflops under the 7770.

Is not that turn 10 has the hardware for longer the game they are making is a damn racing game with a last gen engine, dude is basically Forza 4 with 1080p and 60 FPS they are not rewriting the game here and even so the game will ship incomplete.

The PC equivalent of the xbox GPU: HD 7770, simply cannot hit 60fps in 1080p in most modern games. It is right around 30 frames at 1080p, and will approaches 60 frames as either the settings are toned down (to medium or less) and or the resolution is notched down (to 720). Games on the consoles will obviously improve in textures and assets as the gen goes on, but the Xbox One simply does not have the juice to push 1920x1080 pixels in these hq games. That is not going to change over time. Any PC gamer knows the power requirement in going from 720p to 1080p is massive

It's .9 million pixels versus 2.1 million.. Xbox One basically has to choose between 720p60fps or 1080p 30fps on most games

For the record, PS4 equivalent (7850/7870) is right around 60fps in most games at 1080p.. It falls right in line with what we are seeing in games.. Again games will improve with visuals but this resolution/frame rate combo you will get for the entire gen, unless the visuals are sacrificed

Note that PS4's BF4 900p result is not quite in sync with PC's 7870 GE (with driver 13.11 beta 8) and that's before AMD Mantle.

There's something strange with PS4's BF4 900p results.

PC's BF4 result will continue to improve with driver updates and AMD Mantle.

Dont worry Lems, you'll only have to play in 720p for one more generation. Im sure by the time XBone2 comes out it'll be able to handle native 1080p.

Depends on a lot of things. For starters, it seems a lot of the rumors about undercooked tools have proven true on the MS side. So, if MS can improve their tool set, that will definitely help. However, even with that there remains three big issues:

1. It is still the weaker console by a significant amount. So you either sacrifice on the game to make it get to 1080, or the game wasn't pushing much to start with.

2. Even the best tools can't make the ESRAM any larger. That may end up being an insurmountable issue. If you need X in the ESRAM to take advantage of the bandwidth, but X > 32 MB, you're hosed. For instance, one of the most often suggested things to go there is the frame buffer, but many frame buffers exceed 32 MB at 1080P so you can't put it there.

3. Are the developers going to put in the effort to make it work. This will depend a lot on how well X1 does commercially. If it is competitive sales wise, they are much more likely to do so. If it tanks, they likely will put less effort into it, instead taking the easier route of just cutting back (and if it really tanks, they may end up skipping it entirely).

They are already playing in 900P and 1080P. lol!! Ryse is 900P & Forza 5 is 1080P @60fps Native. So take the 720P and shove it where the sun don't shine. Clueless troll.

Agreed. But I keep hearing about sacrifices. What was sacrificed? You know I buy digital movies, and still by standard definition because it just doesn't matter enough to me to pay the extra cash. So obviously this whole thing doesn't really matter much to me.

There is no end to these discussions........I played Forza 5 and it looks incredible, best-looking racing game I've ever layer eyes on, car models are gorgeous ...,whatever it is they sacrificed to get 60-1080, I don't care....the end product looks great.

That's my take on it. I don't care how many spec numbers get thrown around. In the end I'm going to have fun gamng and doig other things on this onsole. That's what Im buying it for. Not to tell some screen name how GPU s capable of xyz graphics at abc settings. Its so stupid. Never knew how many "devs" posted ere. All this so called knowledge and how many here make games?

2. If it exceeds 32 MB, the programmer has two options

a. X1's frame buffers can spill over DDR3. Unlike Xbox 360, X1 can spill frame buffer to main RAM. The problem with spilling into DDR3 is the performance degradation i.e. making it on par with 7770.

b. Tile the frame buffer related workload.

Yes. Dev tools for the Xb1 right now are poor MS are behind Sony in this area so it will take some time to catch up. Even though the PS4 has the edge in power the difference between multi-plat games will be petty at best.

Things will get better for the xbone down the road but the same thing will happen for the PS4. Feel bad for those select lems that still think the xbone is as powerful as the PS4.

They could do it right now if they wanted to, just take something else out of the game.

Instead of fancy lighting or high res textures you get 1080P, it would probably hurt the game but at least people would stop complaining about the resolution.
