Is this serious or are you joking

I had no problem playing on consoles now.
I would only have a problem if the game doesn't fill my entire TV screen.
even then I don't actually have a problem with.
Is the game a fun entertaining compelling VG experience loaded with features?
if yes then heck to the Yes I will and enjoy every minute but you g'head and play graphics. :P
Personally a little dissapointed, but it's not going to affect me buying a game. What it could do make me choose between X1 and PS4. Say if a game like Dragon Age Inquisition is 1080p on PS4 and 720p on X1 or even vice versa, then by all means I'm getting it on the platform that has it in 1080p. BF4 for example, even if it's 720p vs. 900p, gonna still get that on an x1 because the majority of my friends are. And when it comes down to that, I would rather play a game with friends than have the extra resolution and play with random people. I can notice it, and when games are 1080p it will be a nice treat, but it should never effect someone buying it.Â
Also, theres that video out where someone is talking about his experience playing BF4 on the X1 and said that 720p was not bad at all, still looked very good. I can believe that, if a dev can get 720p 60 FPS with some good anti-aliasing then it will look great.
An example is that I Just started playing AC: Revalations and it looks pretty good. From where I sit about 7-10 ft depending on couch or chair and view it on my 65" ST-50, I really don't notice jaggies on it. I noticed immediatly that the graphics were improved from the past AC games, it looks much sharper and it's mainly the textures as the res has not changed, still 720p, they are so much more detailed and clearer. So overall, i'm pretty sure with the right AA and texture res 720p can still look great.
Basically if you want PURE 1080p on games like BF4, your gonna have to go PC. But this gen games seemed blurry because most were sub 720p, running at odd resolutions like 8xx x 6xx and so forth. If the X1 and PS4 can keep it at a very minimum at 1280 x 720, then it will be fine.Â
Yes, a good amount of next gen games will be running at that resolution on consoles, games that I wouldn't want to miss playing.
I couldn't care less about the resolution of my console games, most of the time I have a hard time discerning between 720p and 1080p on my 50" 1080p plasma from 10 feet away. On PC, resolution plays a much larger role considering your face is only two feet away from the monitor.

Not that I'm agreeing about SMG and 2 are better than PC games but If I want I can play it on my 'rig' in higher resolution in full HD. Can you even run Doom on your consolol?;)
When all else fails, brag about piracy, god knows you have no real pc exclusives to brag about. Â and lol @ doom. Â its just sad at this point.
So, no counter arguments? Damn, those tears are so delicious. And where the hell did piracy come into?
Unfortunately I have a 32' Vizio from 2008, that only supports 1080p through component cables, the HDMI resolution is limited to 720p for some reason. It looks I won't be gaming in full HD next gen for the forseeable future. I wonder if there are any Component/HDMI converters that might work so I can have 1080p on next gen...
720p looks fine and not blurry at all on my HDTV
So, why not ? I would prefer it by a billion trillion times to have better effects/rendering at 720p than a medicre looking game in 1080p
Not bothered in the least and wouldn't care one bit if its 720. I only ever expect the absolute best on a PC because it can be achieved. But when you buy a console it is what it is and will never change even with heavy optimisation. So if the game has great controls, story, atmosphere, exciting gameplay, multiplayer that's all that matters to me. Great games are what I play, not specs and outragious fanboy expectations.
In most cases no. Battlefield 4 is already getting cancelled or failing to hit 1080p. My only exception now is The Order right and that is because they are not acutally lowering the quality of what is on the screen.
Resolution doesn't bother me.
The problem with the 360 and PS3 was that a lot of games had very muddy textures, and the game had a layer of vaseline smeared over it to cover all the jaggies and other blemishes. Then to top it off they still suffered from sub-30fps framerates.
Â
I just don't expect that to be the case on the new consoles.Â
Lol 720p.
Cyberdot
Well at least 4 Xflop launch games (3 exclusives) are sub-1080p so they don't have much of choice.

If you are buying a Xflop you have to be OK with it.
Are anyone bothered by this to the point of skipping a game because it runs on a blurry ass last gen resolution? For me BF4 is one of them. IF its 1080p im getting it day one and probably the first game i'll play on ps4, if its 720p bs i'll be skipping the game completely.

THe majority of xbone and ps4 games will run in sub HD, the owners will have no choice.
We will have to wait for next next gen for actual HD consoles.
720p is not as bad as a lot of you are making out. If you're sitting several feet away from the TV it's pretty damned hard to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. And AA also plays a factor. If anti-aliasing is done very well a 720p game can look damned good. But anyway, if you're planning on getting either one of these consoles you're gonna have to accept it cuz neither is powerful enough to really be 1080p machines. After a while 720p or at least sub-1080p upscaled is gonna become the norm for them.

Haha. Have you seen one running? Or PS4?
lol @ the attitude that resolution makes games better.
i've said a million time here resolution is the 1st thing i sacrifice when i am dialing in a new pc game.
draw distance, particle effects, water effects, lighting, ground clutter and more are all proritized for system resources when i'm setting it up over resolution every time.
