Dunno really. If technology continues to progress then I don't see why not. Hopefully there will be major strides made in immersion and experience in the next few decades.

Nope. At worst I might just have to reduce my playtime in the future, but I don't see any reason to quit the hobby all together.
Indefinitely, probably not, but every so often I take really long breaks from gaming. These breaks last for several months, to the longest being a period between 2003 and 2007 when I barely played any video games.
Hmm...most likely not. Video games have been my hobby and past time for my whole life, yes I do have other hobbies aswell but I always enjoy video games. I guess it's because I like the challenge and discovery of them, it's sort of like a mental test in a way, if that makes any sense. One thing though I think the industry needs desperately are games with improved storylines, now not every game needs a storyline to be fun, but I do want some games to have that feeling of drama.
You know how after you watch a really intense and serious movie and you come out of the theater thinking about it and it leaves an emotion in you? I want more games to do that, since I belive games are art and they are missing out on a really good opportunity by not offering more engaging and emotional stories.
No never. Gaming is getting better almost yearly imo. Can't wait for what the future has in store. Fifty years from now there will be some pretty epic games, I'm sure 8)!
Never. It's been a part of me, my whole life.
But never has it taken over me. ;)
Like music, movies or sports, gaming is just another form of entertaiment for me.
Only if every developer does something I don't like I would quit new games maybe but I can still play all the old games I like.
I don't see why I should. Even if I have kids I'd consider it acceptible provided I'm not neglecting my kids by playing too much. A lot of adults nowadays spend ages watching TV to relax; I don't see what's so different about playing games instead.
Gaming has always had its place. I've just had to be cognizant of my time and making sure my long term goals stayed as my main priority. I will say, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find time on the games I really want to play (rpgs) as responsibilities increase. Also, not being able to put in the sheer manpower needed to compete in multiplayer shooters that younger players can is frustrating.
My job, my academic development (ph.D....beyond...), my family, playing tennis/working out, playing guitar....they will always come before gaming, but I'd be very sad if I stopped altogether.
Why should I commit myself to doing exactly what the older generation does? Just because the older generation didn't grow up playing video games does not mean I should stop playing them when I get older. It's my hobby, and if I have to give it up then why should any hobby be OK? What would old people do without their ability to go fishing?TimstuffSitting on a porch in a nursing home reminiscing about the old days. No movies, no music, no sports, no technology, no electricity.....................no fun!
No, but I will definitely say that I no longer play video games as much as I used to. In fact, everything I played this year was just new releases, and nothing else.
I don't think I'll ever grow out of them nor do I want to. But it's almost like the older I get the harder it is to actually play video games and keep up to date with everything. I'll always feel nostalgic when I see or hear about a certain game, I just don't have the time or drive to want to sit down and burn any more of my time with games. It sucks in a way and its help me grow up and deal with other things. As of right now I haven't touched a game in over 2 years. I play CSS and TF2 from time to time that's it. I still like to linger around here though and see what's going on. :P
I also need to add. Gamers shouldn't have to "out grow" games. Not when games as a media have grown right along with the players.
No, unless I get bored. It's a hobby and that's all there is to it.

This. Unless you're the type of person who ONLY plays COD/FIFA multiplayer to death or even Halo multiplayer without ever touching the campaign(s), you can never really get bored of video games as a hobby.
wow I wanted to ask this question and post a topic to see the reactions of the gamers here, I was thinking about this topic while driving home and BAM here is the exact same topic haha.
I thought I was going to be on the minority who won't give up gaming but damn you guys rock :)
if they turn into digital download yes ill stop buying new games but i will buy used games for older consoles so short answer nope
No way to know. Doesn't seem likely anytime soon.
I hope so one of these days. But everytime I think I'm out, there's always something that pulls me back in.drinkerofjuiceWhy?
