Will You Get The New Need For Speed?

Let's put aside the fact it's EA and it will force the online on us.

The game is going back to the "Underground" time of the series and is not focusing much on the "cat and mouse" theme the last 5 NFS games where.

Corny story , mad customs and less break neck speeds.

Nope, doesn't really appeal to me. Last NFS game I bought was Rivals before that, I really don't remember.

I will. I really enjoyed Rivals, and if anything, this looks like a step up from that installment.

Always online, so nope.

I hope its good, would like to return to the series. Last one I enjoyed was Most Wanted back at the beginning of the 360.

As a hardcore Need for Speed fan, I'm just going to say no to the new one for the fact that it's always online. Sorry.

No interest. Last one that I played was The Run I think or Shift (can't even remember which one came first). I just want Split/Second 2.

The devs behind this game are really talented.

Too bad they had to bring always-online to the game. NFS has always been more of a SP, laid-back experience.

I really loved pure and split/second. Too bad the dev was axed after those two great games :(

Sorry but I will not buy the game. Even when TC said ignore always online that is a killer for me.

I'll stick with the latest most wanted, until they shake things up and don't include always online and other bs.

I am tempted by Forza Motorsport 6 though (not tempted enough to blow money on an Xbone mind you). One game I wish was also on PC.

I get my racing excitement from the Forza: Horizon franchise these days, so not exactly.

Just slap motorcycles on the next installment, and you'll get freedom happy.

This shit is going to bomb, I'm really getting tired of this forced social bullshit... Some of us, hell a lot of us, like playing single player games alone, because they're single player games... Stop trying to force multi-player aspects into every facet of gaming, it's getting really old...

Yeah it was very sad day for me and my brother when they announced that Split/Second 2 is internally canceled and studio is about to close its doors. Stuff like this mostly happens to good devs only while yearly rehashes always sell. What a sad end.

Nope. I tried the NFS on EA Access after playing through the F&F Horizon stand alone DLC. I deleted it after a couple of hours and bought Horizon 2.

I'm definitely interested. It looks awesomely corny and dont care if it's 'always online' since I just see this as an online game. I'm just wondering how EA is gonna screw this one up somehow, if they dont and it's good, I'll likely get this one.

But I havent been too impressed with the core racing. Lots of bland flat street corners and the drifting doesnt look all that satisfying. The 3rd person camera looks strange, too, but good thing I use 1st person or cockpit views.

In terms of arcade racing games, I'm personally more keen on how Trackmania turns out.

I found you could turn that off in options of last game. I was getting pissed at dicks in my world always crashing me. :P

Might, I love the Need for Speed franchise.

No, I won't buy any new Need for Speed game that is open world. I hate open world racing games. I don't want to have to drive to a race; I want to be able to just quickly select the track I want from a menu. And I want a variety of very diverse tracks which is hard to do when they are all in an open world. So until they make a new linear Need for Speed, I won't be buying anymore games in this series.

You seriously couldn't figure out why? Anyway, when Ea's server's are down for maintenance (or for whatever reason) how I'm I able to play the game? Also, their severs are not going to be there forever. What if I kept the game for a long time and came back to it every now and again like I do for my old games? How will I be able to play it?

Always online for the single-player portion of the game is complete bullshit. If the game with this feature is a success they may incorporate it into their other games and, other companies may follow suit.

If they're down for maintenance, you can play another game or do another activity. I doubt you'd play an old racing game in the future anyways, you'd move onto newer and hopefully better games, while still playing the majority of your old games that are offline.

I know what you asked and I figured if you know what it is then why ask? It's probably common knowledge what always online is and not everyone will like the idea. I should be able to play a game offline anytime I want not when the publishers/developers decide.

I tried Destiny on my ps4 and disliked it, the always online felt terribly awkward on a console.

Turn 10 should add a police mode to Forza. That game was best when it had a physics model where risky driving had a big risk/reward.

I like the look of it, so I might, depends on how it turns out since I've found all the recent ones to be hella boring.
