already got one, so far my preferred console of the Gen :)

Got the Nintendo refurbished one, already have seven retail games for it. Plenty of mileage has come and will come out of it, so it's been worth it.

Nope, I dont like mario rehashes.

I chose the 2nd option.

Why?

1. I prefer the Playstation platform because 3rd party support is guaranteed without question. And WiiU barely has any of that.
2. PS4, which I'll be getting at some point this year, is a powerful console for only $100 more = more bang for my buck

I dont need another addon for my Wii.

I generally do get all the consoles....so yes the Wii U will soon sit in my living room.

It's not a mystery. They have a dedicated fanbase. Iconic characters they don't allow to be in sucky games. (Even Hyrule Warriors didn't manage to tarnish the zelda series in anyway.) They don't make games that require ridiculous studio breaking budgets. They don't release crap games. They maintain a level of quality that is trusted and has garnered them a huge amount of trust and a loyal following strong enough to keep them above water even in troubled times.

It's not a mystery. It's good business.

i will get a wii u if a couple of games make it on the console and the HDD capacity increased. Wouldnt mind having a proper controller too

All wrong, they survived this time almost literally because of the year head start (and as an only alternative to the Xbox One that isn't the PS4 before the reversal to a lesser extend) Nintendo has literally been on a downward trend Wii and DS excluded. Only reason why Gamecube wasn't a disaster is because they were able to cover it up with GBA money, and that same thing can go for the N64, were only a shift in focus to one country, but also GB money covering up any actual losses.

If Nintendo didn't have handhelds, they would have probably ended up dead after the N64, if not the clusterfuck of the first 2 years of Gamecube. Let's not pretend it sells on games.

Now with that said, I'm sure a lesson will be learned from the Wii U with their next console, and whether or not people will support the Wii U helps in that. Even if it is later than sooner.

Pretend? Umm...sales of their core franchises are pretty damn huge. No one is PRETENDING that their games sell well. They do.

I guess Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, and Bayonetta 2 are nothing but hallucinations on the level of lizard bar in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

I already got one. My only regret was not being patient enough to wait for the Super Mario 3D World Bundle.

It's unlikely I'll buy one but I'm not going to rule it out completely either, especially if at some point my kids ask for one.

@M8ingSeezun: Why not buy a PC? You'll get superior multiplats, better sales, free online, and any controller you want to use, can be connected (including the DS4).

If you're going to buy a PS4, buy it because of its exclusives, which isn't coming for another 9 months.

Already have one with MK8, SMBU, NSMBU, DKCTF, ZombiU and Nintendoland.

Still got plenty of games to buy and play.

Come late April, early May, it'll likely be one of two electronic companions I take on the road with me. So many games stacked up for PS3 and Wii U that I have to play.

Got mine at launch...tho if you just like some games then there's not hurt in waiting till its end of life..it may get cheaper & all the games will be release..the ONLY bad I can think of is..some games may not longer be available *out of print* etc. :P

I got the WWHD bundle in winter of 2013, I love it and I have over 30 games for it. It takes up a lot of my time.

I'll probably get one right at the end of the gen, maybe by then the price is low enough and those Nintendo exclusives will go down in price (Nintendo is notorious for never lowering the price of their games even after they have been out for years)

Probably not. Nintendo's first party doesn't interest me and there aren't really any 3rd party games to make it worth it.

People keep mentioning 3rd party but it has all gotten so mediocre.

Bought mine at launch, I have Nintendo Land, Zombie U, Rayman legeneds, WWHD, Pikmin 3, NSMBU, MK8, Smash WiiU, DK:TF, MH3:U,. Still need to buy Captain Toad, Xenoblade when it comes out, Zelda, I also have picked up Metroid Trilogy and Super Mario Galaxy 2, plus a heap of virtual console games. The WiiU is awesome.

not a fan of Nintendo's overrated rehashes. That phase of my life was left behind in the N64 days. Now those were harsh times with the minuscule library of games that the N64 had.

Have one and it's great. Play it way more than my PS4 since PS4 has no games yet.
