Wind Waker sure is pretty all these years later.
Music wasn't too shabby either.Especially everytime the game just booted up.

Ugh, this is one game out of many that is missing from my collection and is bugging me.
I have a really hard time buying used games, because I am OCD when it comes to disc condition. I won't even buy a game if it has a light scratch on it. I know that light scratches don't affect play, but I like discs to be pristine. I recently saw a copy of Wind Waker, and it had a light scratch on it, so no buy. I'm extremely careful with discs, and never set them down outside of a console or case. I also never touch the bottom with my finger, only the sides. Every game I own is in factory condition except for 1 game, which I have a pristine duplicate copy of.

Just buy a new/like new copy on ebay. Problem solved.
I actually did buy many of my retro games new on Amazon, but some games are priced very high for new copies. Wind Waker is $150 for example. It's just not worth that much to me, I would rather find a pristine used copy, trust me, they are out there. I'm in no rush.
I've never bought used online. Most of the time, my idea of good condition and someone elses idea of good condition are two entirely different things. I prefer to see the disc before I buy. The hassle of buying used online, getting it, realizing it isn't up to snuff, and dealing with returning it is too much trouble.
It would have made it a hell of a lot easier on myself if I had just kept my original copy, along with all my original consoles and games and didn't sell them all in 2005. I consider that my biggest regret of all time, which I'm not really complaining about because if that is my biggest regret, something video game related, I am probably doing something right.
I live in Chicago, and my advice is to look in obscure places. There are areas here that have "sell everything" stores--in that they'll sell things such as gold jewelry, guitars, and you name it. Around 2006/7 I walked into one and saw brand new PSXs, the original model. I'm the same way as you are with disc quality. Frankly I don't even understand how they get scratch up.
I will say that I bought a PSX version of Hot Pursuit, as a gift, and had it "fixed" with disc cleaner. I was told it worked perfectly. A real disc cleaner though--the ones that fix the service by shaving off a layer[i believe].
Since when does the GC do HD resolutions? This is running on a GC emulator on the PC with a lot of beautifying effects enabled. And TC...why? What's the point?PS2_ROCKSEveryone knows that when a game is multiplat, you play the PC version. Just look at that Castle shot. Not even Prince of Borderlands can compete.

Yeah, I'm going to start looking in places like flea markets, pawn shops, goodwill, value village, random places like that. It seems like the actual gaming stores are usually ravaged by collectors, and most of the good stuff is usually gone. There is one really good place sort of near my house that sells all sorts of collectibe stuff like toys, comics, games, etc. They usually have some good stuff.
I never set my discs down outside of the case or console, and I never touch the bottom of the disc. I handle them like they're supposed to be handled. I'm sure that most people don't care about disc condition, and leave their discs lying around outside of the case, vulnerable to damage. This is evidenced by any used game store's inventory. It's usually like finding a needle in a haystack to find a disc that is actually mint.
A place near me has a disc resurfacer, and those things do work really well. Like you said, it shaves off a layer, so best case scenario you don't have to go that route, but it is a nice option to have.
I feel lucky for anyone that had the luxury of buying used games when I was the previous owner. All my games have been and always will be greatly taken care of and in mint condition, everything from case, manual and disc.
Not even close :|[QUOTE="Spartan070"][QUOTE="princeofshapeir"]Even as a troll attempt, this is a stupid thread because everyone knows Windwaker (not those bullshots in the OP) looked like ass even back in 2003.glez13
Dude he is right just look at the pic posted below. Even running in an emulator at high resolution you can't hide bland graphics. Even Okami did cel-shading better.
You're serious? :lol: Someone needs some glasses or a reality check.True dat. Watch in HD:

So beautiful still.
Wii U won't even run GC games :(
I hope they make a new HD cel shaded Zelda for Wii U.

BF3 is gonna be graphics king for only a short time and will look severely outdated once true next-gen games come out.
Wind Waker's graphics, however, are timeless.
Hehe!! All your photos are fake. Who made them , pretty good job putting real trees into Wind Wakers world...But sadly game doesnt look at ALL like that.

Sadly? Those pics look like ****. Thank god WW isn't riddled with low res amateur quality grey scale bump maps and AEC extended tree sets. :lol:
Wind Waker looks like the work of proffesionals. Those pics in the OP look like a student project.
[QUOTE="nintendofreak_2"]
That has to be the worst mod ever.
R4gn4r0k
It's just a render I hope.
I'm sure it is. Looks like AEC foliage from 3ds max and the water looks like an unmodified Mental Ray ocean shader. Then they threw in a basic daylight system with Mental Ray sun and used a low res jpeg of some random ass clouds for the sky.
Looks like ****.
Well I always loved the game´s artstyle. May very well be my favorite when it comes to cel shading. Okami is excelent and in many ways it does surpass it, but the game has a lot of blur, and its style has been done before. I´ve never seen the style used in Wind Waker--it gives the game a lot of identity, which makes it even easier to go back to.
[QUOTE="princeofshapeir"]Obviously compressed shot. Fail.BEST-LOOKING GAME EVAR!!!!1
ActionRemix
thats pretty much in the game's native res. and its also better than posting a modded picture and claiming its an actual gameplay pic. and WW has aged good, but it has aged, its not king, not even art king, many games did cel shading better than WW and look better than it. WW still has static animations and many bland textures
the fun part is that SS graphic style was technical, not artistic..its just so bad that sheep started claiming it was "artistic" to justify for the poorness of the technical department.Actually, I think Skyward Sword's art style is better than Wind Wakers

music was terrible, I hated the battle music and the baton songs, pretty much every theme in the game except for the ocean theme. zelda music is terribly overrated...and its like they put a 5 years old kid to randomly hit notes in a piano...I mean seriously the other day I was just hitting keys randomly and I got like 6 ocarina songs (I was not even trying to play them) they are extremely simple...usually hit one note and then jump one key to the other side, then revert to the 1st key you played and go to the 2nd one again and ta-da you get over 6 ocarina songs. it was so simply its laughable
