[QUOTE="effthat"][QUOTE="Jandurin"] [QUOTE="JayPee89"]That's fine. They're still counting controller sales. If that's what you sheep call software then so be it.JayPee89
you know, you actually can *play* Wii play. It's even in the title.
Let's do him the favor of not counting this particular title. That still leaves Wii sales in the top 100 outnumbering 360 sales in the top 100 by 1. It also increases the ratio of 3rd parties to 1st/2nd parties. So if we do remove WiiPlay. We still come out on top for sure, and it does even more to prove that 3rd party support is alive and well in all areas of the Wii's value chain.
Outnumbering them by 1 unit during the busiest shopping month of the year on the hottest holiday item. 3rd parties am rejoicing. I see you have trouble following so I'll break this out slow and then do a complete overview.
Top 100 NPD numbers for units moved:
20 spaces held by Wii
18 spaces held by 360
Wii has more
Take away WiiPlay
19 spaces held for Wii
18 spaces held for 360
Wii still wins
Now of those original 20 for the Wii 15 aren't Nintendo. the ratio is only 1/4 of games sold are by Nintendo.
Take WiiPlay out of the mix again. 19 games. 15 Aren't nintendo 4/19 is at the lowest denominator, so we'll convert both to percentages.
1/4= 25% of games sold for the Wii are made by Nintendo
4/19=21.052...% of games sold for the Wii are made by Nintendo
So even if we remove WiiPlay the Wii's software still holds more place on the top 100. This means that of the 100 most wanted games, 20 (including WiiPlay) of them were for the Wii while only 18 were for the 360.
As far as the continuous rants about Nobody being able to sell software for the Wii unless it's Nintendo, we can look at the cold hard facts and realize that that isn't the case. Of the 20 games that made the top 100 most wanted list, games produced by other companies were 300% higher than games produced by Nintendo. Take out WiiPlay and that ratio improves.
