I was very disappointed with the DAO and it's not looking any better for DA2. Graphics don't look any better than the first game. Which looked extremely dated when it came out.

You fooled me once Bioware, but not again. Honestly when they can put something out that looks like Mass Effect 2 and then they show this I'm starting to wonder if they're made by the same company.

Probably different teams inside the company, the two games are inherently different though.

I paid less attention to the graphics, and more to the actual game, and came out with an enjoyable experience. Dragon Age wasn't without faults, but overall the package was enjoyable. DAII will likely be a similar experience.

I hate the artstyle they choosed. It's too clean, almost cartoony. The only thing that can save it is the gameplay. I freaking loved the tactical team gameplay in DA:O for pc. Plus there is no other upcoming rpg that can rival it in this area. The others are solo action (not saying that that's bad, just different)

Its true that DA:O is one of the few RPGs to still have tactical party play, though it would be nice if they didn't say non-boss fighting woulden't be so easy you'd one shot everything, DA:O had quite a bit of tougher fights that were non-bosses on PC on normal difficulty (where it was quite a bit harder than on consoles on normal), but now they seem to be saying normal fights will be easier, since all 3 versions are supposed to be more similar this time. I hope it can at least maintain DA:O difficulty though.

Good point but I wouldn't be so quick to say the game is horrible either. If it turns out to be a great game it will be a surprise to me.

Real fans of bioware, or any developer, don't hide their opinions just because of loyal fanboyism. Goota take trhe good and bad, we'll see how DA2 does first though.

Yeah, I mean like someone else said, few games like this still come out, so its DA or nothing for the most part. Even the more niche WRPGs that are more hardcore in terms of character building and such are pretty much always 1 character.

Nah, that's not a problem really. I'll just up the difficulty. Plus modders will fix what may be wrong anyway. From some of the recent videos I've seen that tactical feel is still there for pc so I've still have hope.

So yeah the only thing I hate is the art style which may be overshadowed by great gameplay and story.

Graphics? I don't care about that, I just hope this one's a bit more engaging than DA: O. It had some pacing issues where I got bored, I want a tighter experience. Other than that, DA2 should be amazing just like DA: O. Thus far nothing looks off, other than people's ignorance regarding the game.

The screens and videos I have seen lead me to believe it should be subtitled "Raid on turd mountain". The gameplay dosnt look the promising either.

lol, there is a very easy answer: ME and ME2's success was not the contribution of existing/previous bioware fans, i.e the ones from the BG era.

Game looks awesome to me, I just hope we don't go through the Fade again like we did in DA:O (the Mage's Tower). I'm doing a second playthrough and that's were I am atm. I don't play the game because it's so bad imo. Kind of like the Library level from Halo CE.

I wish Bioware would try something other than the same old linear rpg with a quest hub. Imagine if they tried something like an open world sandbox rpg like oblivion. Could be great! Imagine all the DLC they could cash in on with an open world rpg!

Graphics, gameplay and poor animations toped off with a lame story. Dispite what most fanboys try to hide away from Graphics DO MATTER and can take away from the experience. Only when a game looks like total S*** do you see fanboys pip up "Graphics Don't Matter" anyother time they're all about the graphics.

Black Ops defenders use that same argument donsn't stop it from being over rated. Point is DAO graphics were more than just dated when it came out and the 2ed game looks more or less the same. I thought they were using some kinda new engine with improved textures and such what happened to that?

No the fact of the matter is 99% of the offiical reviews thought the game looked fine.. And why are you even making a topic on this when you clearly hated the first.. So basically trolling.

I think graphics are more important for a rpg than any other genre. Rpgs are the most immersive games, trying to put you in a role in this world. How this world and characters look is important, a lot. I think one of the main reasons I loved Mass effect is because how everything looks. The artstyle is amazing, worlds and cities were beautiful and the design of characters and armor is just great. Graphics may not break a game but may add a lot if done right.

DA2 starts of in Lothering right before it gets overrun by the Darspawn which is shortly after your Grey Warden leaves it in DA: O.

I just hate it because of the on disc dlc. What a bunch of money hungry bastards.

xLittlekillx

What makes you think there's on disc DLC? Is it because you assumed that since there will be day one DLC, it will be included on the disc? The first DA had day one DLC and neither were included on the disc, The Stone Prisoner DLC that came with all new copies of the game was almost a 300MB download and the Warden's Keep DLC clocked in at 158MB.

Loved DAO. This one for me does so many things wrong.

The demo was distributed for German magazines

Gamestar and PC Games which gave it a 88 and 87.

http://www.globalgameport.com/showthread.php?t=42613

Many features are locked in the demo.

The gameplay videos are already posted and the demo in German was available 3 days ago.

From the reviews the enviroments are copy/paste and the ending:
is a predictable, and unsatisfying cliffhanger
Demo is out on the 22.2 for the rest of the world.

About the graphics, these are not essential in a RPG IMO, the rest and I followed the game closely is disapointing however for me.

Honestly I couldn't tell a difference between either game graphically. I personally loved the graphics of DAO. For me my biggest concern is that the graphics aren't bad. A game doesn't have to have the greatest visuals, as long as it stands up to industry standard and has fun gameplay. Just look at Fable 3. One of the most beautiful games you will ever play. But that didn't keep it from being pretty disappointing.

I loved Dragon Age Origins, but not for the visuals, they were fine just not impressive. I loved the gameplay and characters. DA2 is clearly a visual upgrade (I just hope they fixed the frame skips) though not the standard of Mass Effect 2 and I am very much looking forward to it for the same reasons as the first.

I like nice visuals, very much in fact but they aren't everything.

Graphics are the least of Dragon Age's problems.

The first game was a ****ing waste of time; it was an endless combat slog, and a poorly designed one at that. The gameworld was tiny and shallow; the story was awful, besides being incredible generic. How anyone managed to squeeze one iota of enjoyment out of that trash is beyond me.

Now we have a DLC gutted sequel pumped out in no time at all that looks to be exactly the same sort of thing, only worse, and there's people (real BioWare fans, amirite?) actually defending this monstrosity?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not confused about that last bit; it does take all kinds gentlemen, and perhaps BioWare games simply must exist so that everyone else can have nice things (New Vegas, for instance).

The barrel does need a bottom, after all.
Real fans of Bioware don't care about the graphics. Was Mass Effect the first Bioware game you played?110million
Real fans of bioware woulden't put up with this watered down RPG experiance. :o

real nerds will always find something to complain about despite how good the game will be.
