It hasn't even sold 500k units, this should be ported to the PS3 without the screen tearing and other glitches that plagued the 360. It's obvious the screen tearing detracted from the sales, PS3 could run the game so much cleaner. Kinda like Prototype 2, a mess on 360 while it's nice and clean and V SYNCED on PS3.

Great. It has quality. It's a port of a great game. It looks stunning. The game it was ported from won a few GOTYs. What more could you want? Oh right, it to be on the PS3 where then you praise it to no end.

It hit number 1 in the sales chart here in the UK and as for the screen tearing 'it's rare that you actually notice the tearing on-screen - most likely because of the muted colour schemes and the lack of fast motion. More commonality between one frame and the next serves to make the tearing more difficult to pick up by the human eye, and the impression you get during gameplay is more along the lines of a barely perceptible "wobble" at worst, as opposed to any eye-rending artifacting. In terms of actual frame-rates, it's rare for The Witcher 2 to dip below 28FPS - quite an outstanding achievement bearing in mind the richness of the visuals, the varying numbers of NPCs roaming around the environments and the multitude of effects in play at any given point' http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-the-witcher-2-tech-analysis i don't think it's a commercial flop on the 360 but i do think they should make a Ps3 version.

Uhm screentearingon the console version is readily apparent. Just chekc out any live feed.

MOST console games suffer from it because that hardware isn't up to the task of vsyncing except in either not graphically impressive titles, or the very few that have very experienced engineers optimize the hell out of the engine.

Since when is selling 500k in a month considered a flop? Considering this was a port of a year old game whose predecessor was not even on consoles. I know its VG Chartz numbers but saying 500k is bad is not true at all

Of a hardcore RPG from an small Eastern European developer in a single year. That's more than somehting like Demon Souls, except it cost a fraciton of what it cost to develop and market that game.

Very true. Starhawk being the latest. Only been out for a week. In fact, fellow mod Mr.Wasdie already commented on the the death of the SH community. Even mods aren't above engaging in this behavior.

The game looks good but I stopped caring about my Xbox after gears 3 released and after MS sealed their fate with that sh1tty e3 full of kinect sh1t and I'm sure many others have done the same, which is not caring or jumping ship to playstation.

Heck even in 2011 The 1st Witcher sold 400k copies and that's 4 years after the release. A console games never sell in volumes after the year let alone a few months after a big release. Look at Crysis 2 sales were down 98% of what they were the month of release 9 months afterward.

According to lems, then, ps3 should have virtually no exclusives. Yet, it has more, and that's without sales like Halo and Gears.

It hasn't even sold 500k units, this should be ported to the PS3 without the screen tearing and other glitches that plagued the 360. It's obvious the screen tearing detracted from the sales, PS3 could run the game so much cleaner. Kinda like Prototype 2, a mess on 360 while it's nice and clean and V SYNCED on PS3.

Yeah ps3 could run it so much better like Skyrim

Another game on 360 that has rampant screen tearing. Moron, PS3 version is vsynced while 360 can't even keep a single clean frame. Differences in framerate are like one or two frame drops so that's meaningless.

Uncharted 2&3, MGS4, Killzone 2&3, God of War 3, Infamous 2. All stunning visually and V SYNCED with 0% screen tearing. Let me correct you, MOST 360 GAMES SUFFER FROM IT.

Um could we say Moo? Uncharted 3 had tearing , MS4 had tearing, God of war 3 has tearing so does KZ 2/3 more so in 2 then 3.

Noooo I'm afraid not, sir. Especially God of War 3. I've played that game 10 times over, and there isn't an ounce of tearing.

Its funny to see people state someone's personal estimate of pirated copies as a fact ,and also he says 1 of 5 ratio between bought and pirated is still pretty good. As of December of 2011 TW2 sold more then 500,000 copies digitally, and has sold nearly 1 million retail copies. And then The 1st witcher in 2011 sold more then 400k units and lets add up the previous 3 years hmm? its well above 2 million just for TW . Your fact about TW1 and TW2 only selling 1.5 million is just for the year on 2011 you need to learn to read better.
