Wow, I wonder if it's just the 360 or the PS3 as well. Either way I'm definitely picking it up, if I can't build my PC by the time it comes out that is.

Have you not been paying attention to the forum? The Hermit mentality concerning The WItcher is pretty much "NYA HA!" with their tongues sticking out. Hermits took the opportunity to emphatically prove they aren't the slightest bit more mature than other types of fanboys.

It's a good series, but don't get your hopes up *too* high. PC gamers tended to blow it a bit out of proportions because it was practically the last major traditional RPG released exclusively for the PC any more (the first one). In the golden age of PC RPGs, The Witcher 1 would have been middle of the pile. I'm too busy with Minecraft right now to get into The Witcher 2, but after seeing the PC community slobbering over the only pretty good Witcher 1, I'm taking the hype with a grain of salt. Probably well worth getting, but hey, so was Dragon Age 1, and it was only so-so.
... and the PC version remains vastly superior. Life goes on.

Why? I played through the entire game once and and half way through my second play through all with a 360 controller. The combat is bad without the mouse.
Have you looked at the PC board recently Boomshaffted? Most don't care if the game ends up on the consoles. The only real worry was if the game was taking full advantage of the PC or an console port. Now that the game is already out for the PC who cares where it goes.

I think (or at least I hope :P) the vast majority of real life PC gamers aren't like some of the forumites here.

Hmmm...I was expecting a announcement about this at E3 anyway. I really want to play this game. Only because I like RPG's and I haven't played on in a REALLY long time.
In one of the trailers that came out just before release they said it was also coming to the PS3. Its at the end in one of their quick messages that you have to pause at the right time.... Anyway, it seems that maybe the console versions are further along than expected.

I hope this to be the case. Crysis 2 is such a depressing game. It's on the cusp of greatness at times, but it never really succeeds at what it wants to do, and it ends up feeling flat and disengaging, the polar opposite of its far superior predecessor. I'd hate for that to happen to the Witcher.

Impossible for the game to look bad, even at it's lowest settings it looks fantastic. on xbox 360 could run the game just fine @ 720p and some optimization. Key word optimization, which is the a major advantage the consoles have. The fact the engine was built with consoles in mind only helps.

I doubt it will. CD Projekt has been better to their fans than just about any other developer, and I can see that trend continuing on consoles. :)

First page of this thread alone has four pointless one-line-of-negativity posts to the effect "It'll suck on consoles!" I've been seeing posters like that dropping things to the effect of "LOL we have the best looking RPG EVAR that's not consolized garbage ROFLCOPTER!" littering the board for a few days now. Granted, not everyone, but there are plenty of rational and even-handed console gamers out there too - the bad ones just reflect poorly on the whole group. This is just showing that the PC crowd isn't as rise above it as they sometimes like to come off as.
