With all the delayed games, do you expect higher quality from them now?

With so many games said to launch this year and then be pushed back into 2013 to finish them off, do you expect them to be higher quality now with less bugs and glitches? or will you just accept them the way they release?

I know I do, Metro Last Light is a big one for me and when they said they delayed it to polish it up and finish it off I expect a near perfect version of it now. The game could be garbage overall but I expect no bugs and glitches in the game now. I've heard many other gamers say similar things about games they're anticipating.

Quality as in polish or interesting concepts?

Delaying a game would certainly help in polishing it up, but if the concepts are uninteresting and dull to begin with, a delay wouldn't help much.

Alas, it all depends on what the devs are delaying their games for. If it's because they are still finding directions, then it's a sign that they are in a development hell.

I mean just in terms of polish and bugs/glitches. The overall concepts were never going to change much during the delays

not really. just because a game is delayed doesnt mean its going to be more polished when it comes out. sometimes it could be a bad thing

I think the game would benefit tremendously from a delay if it's meant for polish and bug-squishing. That would work best if the game has already had interesting and strong foundations, whereas the developers has been focused on their direction early on.

Imagine if a released game whose dev had had a clear direction from the start, say, Skyrim was delayed and ended up as polished as Mario Galaxy 2 or Starcraft 2(in terms of mechanical fine-tuning).

I'm expectations for Metro Last Light are high considering they cut out MP in order to make the SP as good as possible.

No, never. Expecting alot more just because a game is delayed will only just lead to bitter disappointment.
