I personally think Nintendo will come out of the next gen on top. I also doubt MS and sony will come out with new consoles 2 or three years later, pretty suicidal if you ask me. If Nintendo does release a console with amazing graphics and performance, and Sony and MS release their consoles 2 or 3 years later, their entire video game industry would lose an entire gen. If you think about it, By the time MS and Sony release their new consoles, Nintendo would have a pretty impressive library, not to mention a lowered price. It's pretty obvious Sony and MS have been in production of their new consoles, and probably be released no longer than the a year after the Nintendo console. So dont post any comments about MS and Sony having a tech advantage. Now back to the main topic. The reason I think Nintendo will come out on top is because Nintendo is known for being the king of videogames, the Inovators, the leaders. Surely MS and Sony will quickly follow up on Nintendos creation. Nintendo has been the innovator since they entered the market, and we have them to thank for everything from the D-Pad to the Thumbstick to Wireless Controllers. The NES was released 8 Months before the Sega Master system, but it still won in terms of all aspects of gaming. In 1990, the SNES was next, it came out with shoulder buttons. 4 years later, Sony came out with playstation (along with shoulder buttons) . Even with the 4 year gap, Nintendo still came out on top. In 1996, the first Thumbstick Controller came out with the N64, and of course Sony comes out with there Dualshock controllers two years later. Then, In 2002 the Wavebird was released for the gamecube. First wireless controller. 3 years later the 360 comes out with a wireless controller next. Do i even have to mention the PS move and Wiimote *cough* 4 years *cough* Nintendo was once the king of gaming, the innovators, the leaders. They then changed their focus with the wii, and it worked. They sold approx. 84 mil. The most of the current gen consoles. And now nintendo are apparently changing its aim to the PS3 and 360 owners. I can tell their graphics are goin to be at par with the next gen consoles. Be warned, Nintendo is coming back to reclaim its crown. They're going to school Sony and Microsoft this time. And just watch them quickly copy Nintendos innovation. Let me assure you, anyone to say Nintendo is dying is surely being naive. Just watch em. Nintendo knows what it's doing, they're playing it right. Nintendo is like the Parents of gaming, whilst Sony And Microsoft are like the Obnoxios and naive teens. Nintendo is always the first to release their consoles. They obviously know what they are doing, they've been in this situation before, they got it wrapped up. Anyone thinking that Nintedo doesn't care about graphics, or lacks third party support compared to sony or microsoft, do i need to remind you of how far ahead the N64 was compared to its only competitor, the Playstation. This is not to say that other companies have not had their strengths as well. Microsoft has made huge strides in showing us what the possibilities of online gaming hold, and Sony is constantly pushing the technical limitations of their hardware. Hold onto your hats for this console.

the snes was competing with the Genesis, and the snes came out 2 years after but eventually won out due to the advantage of reacting to sega. The n64 came out 2 years after the psone and psone won out there. What I see happening is that the wii2 will share multiplats with ps3/360. Wii2 will be more expensive though so I doubt that it will build a significant advantage over the other two since people will still prefer those cheaper consoles with bigger game library. I don't see a compelling reason to purchase a wii2. Nobody who already owns a 360 or ps3 would. Nintendo better have a great gimmick to sell the wii2 with or else this will be bad for them

No doubt about it, Nintendo is in the best position right now. Myself, like others, are beginning to tire of the same ol same ol on the 360/PS3. There are other threads similar to this one stating that Nintendo is jumping the gun, but they are doing everything right, imo. A TWO YEAR HEAD START? That's a massive headstart, especially considering people with Wiis are ready for something new. The system was never that expensive in the first place, so upgrading after buying a wii, even if it was just 2 or 3 years ago, is not a big deal.

Nintendo also retains core fans that buy because of the mario/zelda/metroid deal. If the 3DS is any indicator, based on price and what is arriving, they are striving to grab that snes crowd. If this happens, that could spell doom for one of the other two, imo. The 2 year advantage will allow them to have 2nd gen software on the shelf before the others even release their systems. This is almost guaranteed installed base--which in tern guarantees them as the premier 3rd party platform.
