With Dead Space 2 scoring better on PS3, will Portal 2/MK9 follow suit?

[QUOTE="MFDOOM1983"] Which has what to do with the quality of ds2?xYamatox

exactly, they are suppose to review DS2, not DSE.

I say both versions deserve the same score;). even Lens of Truth declared them equal:?

So by your logic, Bad Company 2 should only be reviewed by it's Single Player campaign? Multiplayer isn't the same as single player, so it shouldn't be taken into consideration when being reviewed...

Huh? There is a huge difference in receiving a extra game compared to having a multi-player component which is included in every version of the game.

And guess what isn't included in the Xbox 360 version of Dead Space 2 which justified the lower score?

I can see Portal 2 having an 8.5-9-9.5 spread across 360, PS3, and PC.

You should read my posts because I did state that lol. Selective reading is a bad trait to have. Also do not edit my post there was way more to that post than just that last sentence.

[QUOTE="MFDOOM1983"] Yay, free game.... But i don't understand how that makes dead space 2 better on ps3. MFDOOM1983

That you basically get a complete game for free?

Which has what to do with the quality of ds2?

I don't think you even begin to understand what you're saying. One of the FEATURES of DS2 on the PS3 is DSE. A game is reviewed based off of it's graphics, gameplay, story, sound, fun level, replayability, and features. The overall quality of each of those categories goes into the review score. If the 360 and PS3 versions have the same graphics, gameplay, story, sound, and fun level, but the PS3 version has more features and replayability, then why shouldn't the version will everything and more score higher? It means the game is of higher quality because you're getting A) More for your money's worth B) More story to behold

The multiplayer component of Bad Company 2 is included in all copies. The Dead Space: Extraction component is only included with the PlayStation 3 version of Dead Space 2.

When something is the same across all versions, all versions get rated the same.

When one version has less than an other version, it gets rated less.

This is not a hard concept to grasp. Multiplayer is a component, and so is Dead Space: Extraction.

Grading a game based on value is far more appropriate than grading one on subjective qualities. I for one am glad someone is finally taking things like this into account.

How would it? It's not adding anything to the gameplay. Now if the PS3 version preforms better that's understandable.

The differences between Portal 2 on ps3 and 360 are more pronounced than the extras of DS2 IMO, as the the extras for DS2 are outside the scope of the game in question, while steamworks and cross platform play are very much inside the scope of the reviewable content of Portal 2.

Facing an extra character both online and in the game (arcade mode only) doesn't change gameplay around? That's 1 more character that you have to change your fighting style when faced up against. This is an additional gameplay mechanic that only the PlayStation 3 version will have.

PS3 Portal 2will get AAAAE here... why E you ask?? Because this version is unique and should be considered E.

As for MK, Kratos alone will grant it the AAAE status.

i thought it was a legit thing to bring up also. a free game is a free game.

i didn't care about it and actually got the 360 version since it has online but it's still an advantage for the ps3 version.

I have both systems, And I prefer the PS3 better, but this scores are just not right:?

Their scores are based towards CONSUMERS, not the people of the forums. If a consumer looked at this site and wanted to see whether to buy Dead Space 2 for one of the systems it's on, they would think it is most fitted for the PS3 because they get a free game with it.

And yet, we are also the consumers on this message board, and the general consensus is that the PlayStation 3 version of Dead Space 2 is the one to get.

You'd have to be mentally unstable to purchase the other versions. Yes, that also includes Xbox 360-only owners. I don't see how anyone could only own an Xbox 360 at the rate things are going.

Exclusive content can make all the difference. The recent review of Dead Space 2 has proven this to be true. It is also 100% confirmed that the PS3 versions of Portal 2 and Mortal Kombat 9 will have free, permanent exclusive content that will never be available on the Xbox 360. Will both games score better on the PS3 in the same way Dead Space 2 scored better on the PS3?

Not if they get exclusive content on the 360 first. Also, thats a pretty poor way of rating a game, seeing as the actual game is identical.

theres a difference between having a added whole game then a single added character in MK 9. So I doubt the PS3 version of that game will score higher on PS3.

I'm just wondering why he said he bought the 360 version since it has online. Makes it seem like the PS3 version doesn't.

Yea I know. There been a lot of blind assumptions going on in this topic lol. (this topic has really provide some good laughs don't you agree?)

The entire thing is silly, not to mention the way TC selectively replies to posts.:P

Well, apparently Kratos isn't the only exclusive feature that the PS3 version will get-

Mortal Kombat on Blu-ray

Free Jade costume for the PlayStation 3 with purchase.January 31, 2011January 31, 2011January 31, 2011

by David McCutcheon

We've got big news for you Mortal Kombat fans: the two films, Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, are coming to Blu-ray. Of course, that's not the best part: you can receive a voucher code for a free exclusive character costume download in the upcoming game for the PlayStation 3, simply titled Mortal Kombat, with every purchase of either Blu-ray title. It's not as catchy as Mortal Monday, but these releases will arrive on April 19, 2011 from Warner Home Video, the same date as the brand new iteration of the videogame franchise, which is a Tuesday. Hmm… Toasty Tuesday? Sure, that works for us.

The first film was a commercial success, raking in the dough while providing fans of the videogame franchise ate it up based on the crazy action and stunts that were pulled off in the days before The Matrix. The second film didn't do so hot, as it replaced the majority of those involved from the first, and is considered a poor effort from Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon. Despite this, the pair is cherished by fans of the games for various reasons.

Unfortunately for those of us who are purchasing the Xbox 360 version of the game, there will be no downloadable costume included with the purchase of either movie. There have been a bevy of PlayStation 3 exclusives regarding this upcoming fighter, from the announcement that Kratos from Sony's beloved God of War franchise will be a playable character to the exclusivity of Stereoscopic 3D. For those curious, the character download will be for Jade, as it will provide her "Klassic" look. We're guessing this is her costume from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. No word has been uttered whether or not Xbox 360 owners can purchase this as Download Content.

The releases will contain bonus materials and extra features, and will both be available for the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) of $19.98.

The Mortal Kombat Blu-ray will feature the following bonus materials:

-- Animated piece, Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins
-- Theatrical Trailer
-- Digital Copy
-- HD Mortal Kombat Videogame Trailer

The Mortal Kombat: Annihilation Blu-ray will feature the following bonus materials:

-- Theatrical Trailer
-- Digital Copy
-- HD Mortal Kombat Videogame Trailer

Stay tuned to IGN Blu-ray for more information on Mortal Kombat!

I know right. I gotta give him props though, he doesn't give up easily. Although he isn't the brightest crayon in the box if you know what I mean (but what fanboy is)
