He said "consoles," but yeah - once Crysis hits it'll surely put everything else to shame [visually.]

And yeah, I'm waiting for Gears to be dethroned. Not out of some fanboy "want" but because it has been many months since Gears launched and I figure it has to happen eventually (and I want to play the game that does it.... assuming it's a quality title and notmerely eye candy.). Hopefully even some of the upcoming games that use UE3 but have tweaked it heavily (BioShock and Mass Effectcome to mind) will look better despite using the same engine.

I think Gears of War will be revitalized as a franchise on the PC platform with updated graphics and a smoother framerate along with 5 levels on top of the original 7.

Uncharted Drake's Fortune looks great but it probably won't look better than PC Gears (though it looks better than the 360 version, which isn't even de facto graphics standard anyway).

Ratchet and Clank, Heavenly Sword, Crysis, Motorstorm, Uncharted, Medieval Total War, Company of Heroes, and Killzone 2 pretty much destroy it as far as graphics (and I personally have done extensive video/screenshot comparisons and I believe that Resistance MORE than measures up). And UT3 is a no-brainer.

Ninja Gaiden has far better looking in-game character models, and runs at a higher resolution and framerate.

Logic dictates that a higher score does not denote better graphics. Logic also dictates that a higher score does not dictate a better game, given 2006 9.6 =/= 2007 9.6.

Let me add mods to the list to contradict your theory, first off. Second, higher resolution, better refresh rates, better control, better framerate, better AA and AS, less pop-in, and shorter load times are facts. Not on my PC, but that doesn't mean that the PC version is worse, that means my PC is worse than an Xbox 360. Theory failed.

Additionally, until the 360 has a standard hard disc (to reduce pop-in, shorten load times), that's a mark of superiority. Until this game supports 1080p it's a wash in favor of the PC as far as resolution. 16x AS>all, and Gears has no AA except on static objects, where it supposedly has X4 on the 360. Obviously, 16x AA>that.

And DX10 support is self-explanatory.

Its all realitive really.

GoeW is more confined allowing for more detail.

Mass Effect looks sweet, its about on par. COD4 looks ok too, but it has much bigger enviroments , so of course it will beless detailed.

a lot of threads lately haven't focused on graphics mate, more on the volume of software sony have coming up and them winning e3. "sony own 08" "sony won e3" etc...
