It's really going to be difficult to put on consoles for so many reasons;

1) It's a very RAM intensive game. A lot of PvP and PvE creates situations, even at low levels, where a million spells, attacks and enemies are running around at once that can cause stress even on high end PCs. As GameSpot put it "The popular MMORPG World of Warcraft is notorious for its memory needs."

http://au.gamespot.com/features/6139008/index.html?sid=6139008&type=tech

Trying to stress test the 360s RAM with a 40 man, or even 25 man raid would be fatal. A fight like Vaelastrasz would absolutely pwn anyone on a console (and since that encounter needs flawless execution, pwn the raid).

2) It's a very HDD intensive game. Right now the fully patched up to date version is taking about 8 gigs up on my hard drive. That's a fair chunk of even the Premium HDD on 360. Streaming it off a disk would also create problems in loading content, and would mean that you couldn't update your game.

3) Controls. To the above poster who said that WoW could work at lower levels on a 360 controller, it can't. Even at level 1, you have hotkeys for every menu (ie, character info, reputation, PvP info, Map, main menu) not to mention your spells and basic abilties like jumping, running, looting etc. It couldn't work without a keyboard.

4) Communication. Voice chat would be completely incompatible with most forms of communication (since typing is mainly used). And the types of voice chat that are used by PC gamers (Vent, TeamSpeak) are inaccessible to XBL. You'd basically need 'console only' servers, and whats the point then.

Bad idea. If they did, then the PC and 360 would basically be the same thing.

WoW will not go to consoles, no matter how much you wish it. The amount of commands required is not enough for a controller and a keyboard is required. Since keyboards are not the standard on the 360, the majority of potential buyers will attempt to play the game on a controller, which is what happened in FFXI. Doing so will just screw up the game for everybody since you'll have people simply too overwhelmed to do their class job, thus disrupting the community, which Blizzard won't allow, even if it was a small percentage in their game.

Anyways, what's the deal with console players wanting WoW on their consoles all of the sudden? If you really want to play, just get a cheap video card, spend 20 bucks on the game and play. :|

I agree. I dont think well see WoW on consoles anytime soon. Maybe they will release it for the PS5 in 2021 under the Blizzard Classic Arcade brand. Other than that, not gonna happen.
