That poll is horrible. Everyone of those are really comfortable except probably Sixaxsis. So I guess I choose that but really it isn't all that bad.

Out of the controllers I have actually used (and remember using) I have to say that the Xbox's controller was WAY to chunky. It may be great for people who have big hands but since my hands are medium size, it is extremely difficult for me to use. But out of what I have seen it looks like this is the worst:

People should be open-minded for changes.

Look at that. How are you supposed to comfortably reach the -,+, 1 and 2 buttons? I'm all for change but I'll take no change over controllers with impractical button layouts.

While I agree that + and - could be placed better, all you really need is to slide you're thumb. I've never really had a problem with them. I guess they 'could' make them curved to easier to reach, but then lefty's would have problems.

As for 1 and 2, they are for holding the controller sideways. Sometimes they get uses for a map or a pause button, but that's it. Maping actions to 1 or 2 in remote form would be like mapping 'jump'' to the start button on the DS3.

@vashkey I really hope you're exagerrating. After having the Wii ever since Summer 2006, the controller is really comfortable. Wish I can show you a pose of me sitting on a chair with the wiimote and nunchuck to understand of what I mean ;)

No need for change, it's fine the way it is.

Then why change to HD graphics when SD can do great graphics? See the logic behind that?

No I don't. We never had a problem using the controllers we had until the Wii, and now its a big thing that Nintendo changed controllers while others stayed the same. Graphics have been improving while the hardware improves with each generation. We didn't need a new style of controlling.

Thats because you folks are too used to the old fashioned controller and its time to change. A new style of controller is a method of new gameplay, which is what gaming is all about.

What about replace second analogue stick with IR pointer? Relaxation?

Why is the 360 controller in 2nd place? I honestly thought the consesus was that it was an ergonomically sound controller.

DS3. Terrible "triggers", uncomfortable to hold (makes my hands hurt), and I do not like the convex stick design and stick placement (they're too close together). Plus, recent DS3s i've bought have been of very poor quality. Flimsy triggers, analog sticks that wear out quickly... the six axis controllers were made much better.

This thread cannot go on without mentioning the 2600 joystick. Rigid, unresponsive and with one single button.

Any Nintendo controller. I mean, eventually I get used to them, but I'd rather they take a page out of Sony's book and stick with a similar controller layout for once.

What's the difference between Six Axis and Dualshock 3? I never used the Six Axis but I'm guessing it was like the ps2 controller in which case the R2 buttons weren't good for trigger buttons.

But out of what I have seen it looks like this is the worst:

boredy-Mcbored

To be fair no one really knew what a controller should look like at that time. Putting a number pad on it made as much sense as anything. And the idea was copied on many early consoles (even the 2600 had an optional keypad accessory).

If this was the best controller I would vote the GCN controller. But since it is the worst I would vote for CDi controller.

I personaly gotta go with the duke, or the N64 controller. Duke was way to big and N64 had an almost compleatly redundant left side. I actualy enjoy the gamecube controller for most things. god awful for playing Megaman though

I would say the DC out of that lot, it was actually a pretty crap controller, 1 analogue stick, only two shoulder buttons (although they were analogue which was a first) and the digital pad had hard corners on top of that. To be honest I think only fanboys or people that never played with every one of these controllers would vote for anything but the DC controller...

SapSacPrime

Well I have used all these controllers... having owned all their respective systems... and I would have to respectfully disagree. Okay the design of the d-pad isn't great, but neither are the ones on any of these controllers. The SixAxis/Dualshock3 have that stupid cutout. The 360's feels mushy. And the GameCube's is both mushy and small. Yes it only has one analog stick, but it seems like the most accurate analog stick I've ever used. Besides at that time the dual analog layout had yet to come into its own. You can't simply judge it from a modern perspective.
