worth it to get a 3ds now? or wait for a revision(assuming there'll be one)

what you guys think, theres some solid games coming out for it and iv also never really played ocarina of time, i mean iv played it before long time ago, but i never really got "into" it. do you think its worth it to get it now? or should i wait

I LOVE my 3DS... i havent played it much but come this holiday season when all those good first and 3rd party games come out, its gonna be a hit!

169.99 is a great price and the Holiday line up will be great. I am sure you could even get a better deal around x mas.

I would wait for sure, I was pretty mad about getting a phat DS only to have the real DS come out a year later. And lets face it once the ds lite came out nobody was caught dead in public with the phat one, it looked like a little kids toy.

Just wait when the next one comes out it will be better looking, probably have a better screen or bigger one and it will have more games by then.

I don't know. A new model with second analog is inevitable but it probably won't be coming out for a while so choose. Buy one now to play it's upcoming games and potentially use an ugly disfiguring add on. Or wait another year or so and get a sleek looking version with it built in.

Wait for a revision? No, dont do that. I dont think it'll happen. Though, you could wait a bit longer to see if NoA launches any new colors here in the US for the holidays.

There will definintely be a revision. Nintendo is not going to pay a celebrity a million dollars to be in a commercial where they're holding this:

The current iteration of 3DS is a total mess, and convincing people to buy it when the full experience requires a bullky, awkwardly shaped and hideous looking add on to get the full experience is not going to be easy, especially once the PSP comes out. The circle pad pro is there so that early adopters are not completely alienated when the 2-stick 3DS models come out, but I highly dout that Nintendo is planning on letting it be their main representation of the system oing forward. At the latest, I think that 3DS 2.0 will be out by next Christmas.

I am considering buying one soon as well, but there is also the Vita and so much other stuff coming soon that I want. I am not sure what I am going to do yet, but there is certainly tons of awesome games on the way and a couple out. If I could find an even better deal somewhere I would probably buy one now. Maybe black friday?

I say go with your gut. If there's stuff in the lineup that you want now, pick it up with the Holiday rush (that's my plan).

A revision with a second analog stick might not happen (IMO Nintendo wouldn't do it). A revision (ala DS Lite) is inevitable, but I wouldn't expect it until 2013 at the earliest.

If you look at Nintendo's history with handheld consoles, they love to release new versions like crazy.

I would be careful buying any Nintendo handheld console.

It has been two months since i've turned it on to play games(downloaded my nes games).I'll probably sell it some time in the near future. Especially, since shadow wars is coming to ios.

How about wait in the middle? Don't get it now but don't wait for the revision. I'd say get it sometime early next year when all the good 3rd party games come out. You'll have a lot more choices in what type of games you'll pick out for it.

I'm probably just going to wait for the long haul for the revision because I'm enamored with the Vita. Just wish the thing wasn't to darn expensive :/

Ill pick one up when there is a back log of great games to play... just like I did with the DS. By that time there will be 4 new designs and another 50 bucks off the price.

out of the 19 games you have quoted 14-15 are games nobody in this entire planet has ever heard of.It seems some unknown indie companies made these and seem like flash game quality.I dont want to get the Vita for that, I could play games like these on the PS3,360 and on PC.No one is going to buy them as no one knows what kind of new con and rip-off this is by Sony.These 14-15 games might be newer than Ocarina of Time(Metacritic score 94=higher than any PSP,and most PS3 exclusive games except 2) but they all combined are not as good as 1 dungeon in Ocarina.Even I could make these 14-15 games with some amateur software but wouldnt change the fact that Vita is this gens Dreamcast.

The other 4-5 games or watered down ports of real console games.Littlebigplanet was already on PSP,PS3 and is girly and childish anyway.How old are by the way if you wanna play games like Littlebigplanet? 5 year old little girl?Wipeout has been rubbish for decades with horrendously low scores and sales.Golden Abyss is NOT made by Naughty Dog.Would you buy Uncharted Golden Abyss if it was made by me personally?!I would never buy Mario or Zelda made by Microsoft for example.Resistance was rubbish on PSP and is not important on the PS3 as it flopped saleswise and had no impressive reviews.It is probably going to be the last Resisitance.Why would you buy Assasins Creed on the Vita if I could play much better Assasins Creed games on the PS360?Why would I play GTA 5 on the Iphone if I could play them on the PS360?

Most ppl feel that way about the opposite system, 3ds line up didn't intrest me other than re revelationsp4s2p0

I honestly don't understand people who claim not to be interested in ANY game on a platform's line up.. Its so absurd, every platform has SOME games we wish we could play.. Statements like these do not seem rationally what so ever..

I am talking to ANY ONE who has made such a absurd statement in suggesting that there is "no game I am interested what so ever in a platform's lineup".. Every mainstream platform has some game we wish we could play, these lineups are so large and diverse it really reeks of fanboyism whenever I hear of claims like this.

I've decided I am going to get it over the Vita (don't feel like owning both) unless something dramatic changes my mind. That said I'm content to play catchup with the enormous backlog of DS games out there, so yes I'm willing to wait for the inevitable revision.

Since they released OoT remake for 3DS I'm hoping they'll release remakes of Wind Waker and Majora's Mask too. I wouldn't hesitate to get a 3DS for those :)
