Worth switching consoles just for MW2?

I love my PS3 and have always firmly believed it is the superior console.

Recently, I have really been enjoying FPS games. (Usually play action/adventure category)

I am pumped for COD6 MW2 just as much as the next person, however here is my dilema.

I am in college and a couple of my close friends have a PS3, in total I have about 8 PSN friends. But since all my friends are now in college (like me) they are busy, as am I. And I haven't been able to catch them online and vice versa.

I'm a proponent of gaming online/offline with friends versus solo sessions, and I think if you are able to play with your friends vs. idiot noobs the game itself is more enjoyable. And thats something I really want to do with MW2. And currently I would have another 5 close long time friends who are advid, and more importantly - frequent gamers, if I were to play on XBL instead of PSN.

I have a younger brother who wants his own console, and I could easily get the 360 for a good long while. And as much as I hate to admit it, paying the 50 bucks for XBL (which is a huge **** monopolistic rip-off) creates a more active online community than PSN. And PSN has no unifying online game (sorry kids, Killzone 2 failed to reach a significant portion of PS3 owners, if I recall there are 1.4 million active online accounts, and less that play weekly..) Where XBL has monsters like GoW, Halo, and MW.. which means more n00bs for me to rape.

So my question is.. Do you think its worth going through all that trouble to enjoy what will most likely be the biggest game of our generation with my friends on XBL...

On top of that, I hate the DS3, and if you disagree, you are in denial. Seriously, I mean, I love the charging and the weight. But those triggers, and the resistance of those analong sticks are just plain horrible. Then again, Xbox controller is like holding a brick that takes duracell.. but it is a better FPS controller.

Well I like the DS3 better than the XB controller. More simpler and less weight, and I have strong thumbs since I dont feel anything of some resistance. with that said. I really think you should try getting it for

Xbox 360: the game was intentionally made for the system since all demos and screenies and whatnot was played in the system

PS3: Shouldnt worry about the less people thing. for me 30,000 is enough and theres 500,000 people online at WaW at some point in the summer, and charge free for PSN.

PC: good graphics...(but your at college so yea...)

watse of money on something that is known terrible hardware + pay to play..LMAO!!! about the numbers you said ,why does that even matter when the game only hold 32 people?? it could have only 500 people and you wouldnt know different.

DS3 is indeed lame for FPS, i say go for 360. also if you wanna rape noobs you should stick to ps3 coz 360 has more 1337 players who will pwn you

if u think one controller is better than the other than u are the one in denial and just cause u say the ds3 sucks thats ONLY your opinion and if dont like that controller u prob should have never gotten a ps3

i own both systems and i like the ps3 controller better (notice how i dont say one is better than the other since am giving my opinion)

but a guess am in denial just cause YOU say so

most people will agree that the best controlls for fps games are kb/mouse and the ps3 sticks are closer to kb/mouse than xbox360 because ps3 controllers have better deadzone and more loose so u can move the sticks quicker for faster reaction time

lol same goes for me but its my xbox360 that needs to be cleaned for dust

i might even get rid of it since the only futute game am interested in is alan wake and i dont know if its worth keeping the system for one game

i like u had prity much the same dilemer. i thaught that my ps3 was the superior system but i had a lot of friends playing xbl. i baught an xbox and payed the subscription fees and i must say it quickly became apparet why they have thees fees the number of services and socilising opitunities are far superior such as msn cross game party chats and all of the inside xbox and stuf which i was verry glad for. then when i go online gaming to crack some noob skuls xbox live realy comes in to its own. u will find it easier to get in to games and games that last longer without the constant "host ended the game" oeen. i now could not imagine a games console without this kind of simple awsomeness. for a pearson in your position i would strongly advise buying an xbox360. ;)

Well, you gave me a lol when I read your comment on the DualShock 3. It's a perfectly fine controller. I am not in denial. And the triggers are pretty much the same as the 360s except the DS3's triggers are convex and the 360's are concave. That's not enough to whine and moan over.

I think DS3 >>> 360's controller, quit talking as if your opinion is correct. Buy RealTriggers for $5.99 and get used to the analogs, they're perfect for me.

As for your dillema, I'd say no. Buying two consoles to play one game just with different people is stupid.

Upgrade your PC instead. Far more worth it than buying another console just to play ONE game.
