Would any of you dopes that pissed your money away on Kinect actually be interested in Kinect 2?

ForzaGearsFace

i love kinect sports, love gunstringer, fruit ninja is a ton of fun, love the tech, love avatar kinect, love xbox live intergration.... deal with it.

I don't have to deal with anything. At the end of the day you're the one with sh*t taste.

I'm just not interested in the Kinect. It has to show me that it is worthy of a purchase. I'm a smart consumer, I am not your typical American. I research the things I buy, extensively. No advertisement is going to dictate what I do and do not buy.

That said, I am not going to argue about the Kinect anymore. I've clearly stated the way I feel about it, and it isn't going to change. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything either, so my time here is done.

Have a good day! :D

You thinking you're a legend is subjective. Your taste in games being sh*t is objective. Again, I don't have to deal with anything because at the end of the day you like Kinect and that's hilarious.

I like my thumb sticks and buttons. I can handle the wands, but draw the line at controller free gaming. Unless we're talkin' bout a Holodeck.

I don't hate the Kinect, just dislike change.

Kinect 1 failed so hard, that they're going to have to do a whole lot to convince me Kinect 2 is more than a cheap gimmick that relied entirely on a hype train behind 500 million in advertising.

OhSnapitz
You're right.. 18 million sold in less than 2 yrs is a hard fail.. :|

Hes talking about the fact that Kinect failed hard to create any compelling software for it. Yes, its an interesting technology, but does that technology suite gaming ? It just doesn't. Only dancing games seem to work well with kinect. However, even then, M$ essentially had to buy kinect's hype and or sales. Think about this, The move with more then less then half of the kinect's budget still sold nearly equally to the kinect So M$ paid almost a quarter of a billion more dollars then the Move in marketing, only to end up selling about 3-4 million more then the Move. That slim lead over the move cost M$ a quarter of a billion. LMAO that's the fail! And like usual M$ fails yet again. What truly is unfortunate though is that, 18 million were duped- hook, line, and sinker - by the insane hype machine of M$ - into buying a kinect, but hopefully those people wise up by now, and won't be fooled again. Now, what i do find awesome however, is that Sony supports the move while still focusing on us the core gamers. And unlike M$ they didn't abandon the core gamer for morion controls. Sony doesn't force that technology down our throats like M$ does. Its simply just another option. And that's what kinect should be, a side option, and not the main focus, because in all reality that's what the kinect is - a side gimick for gaming

All Microsoft has to do is make Kinect a mandatory inclusion along with their next console, along with blocking used games, and they will have officially dug their own grave.

People talk about the owners of the Wii being tricked and possibly hesitant to buy the successor. Well times that feeling of regret times 100 when talking about the Kinect. At least the Wii had a solid library of great games. What does the Kinect have? Just a bunch of promised potential that was never fulfilled.

OhSnapitz
Last time I checked the Kinect had about 6-8 titles AA+ that also sold well... Dance Central and Kinect sports being front runners. :|

And yet I bet you haven't even played any of those games. Look, kinect games are reviewed against other kinect games, so a kinect game that scores high - its like being called the winner of the special Olympics. Being a "good" kinect game is not a big accomplishment. Its essentially being the least worst kinect game out of all the other terrible kinect games.

There is a difference. MS made money, Sony didn't barely did, and people brought Kinect fo Kinect only games the most, with the Move, most brought it or the add-ons or games that featured it. So the Move while good, has not shown enough potential to be buy itself, which is why Sony considers it partially a failure, but they may come up with something to add to it.

No. Hopefully MS follows more with the tablet controller. Really eager to see games expand with a new control scheme that I feel is more trustworthy. People complain about games being stale and it's because they're playing the same type of games with the same controller, year after year. While the premise of Kinect sounds interesting, I haven't seen anything so far that really looks any bit better than the conventional control scheme. Tablet controllers on the other hand...

Reading lips, fingers, gestures, sign language, snap of a finger, and resolution outputting you in 720p on the screen, device recognition, all of what the first Kinect was imagined to be, hello project Milo. If you say no you are kinda lame.

Reading lips would be near impossible, especially in certain languages. I am not sure if I should say it but the Milo project to me seemed like something that perhaps "lonely older men" with a penchant for young boys might enjoy. The problems with it was I know we have seen CG trailers being passed off as in game footage, and the great Bullshot claiming to be in game. But when I saw the Milo tech demo it was fairly obvious that it was a scripted affair, he would only recognice certain things. Why, simple, Speed, we have seen some massive lag in real Kinect games, things were processes too quickly. If Lionhead were to creat something that was as technically marvellous as they tried to tell us why are they doing a Kinect rails Fable Forza horse cart game. It would take some effort to convince me Kinect has a place, Mass Effect 3, with the voice commands seems one of the main reasons, but then PS3 has the camera that can do the same. But really a few more years in dev might make it worthy add-on

If Kinect 2 is bundled with the next xbox than it'd be pretty cool. Just using the dashboard and playing moves with it would be awesome.

So youve been loving Kinect based on scores of the Kinect games? Gimmie a break. Those reviews are tailored for the audience who will like Kinect, not for the 360's original audience. There's no way the kid who stood in line for Halo 3's midnight launch is loving Kinect games.

I thought you turd lemmings despised Kinect or ANY type of Motion Sensing controls? I know damn well just a few years ago, Lems and Cows were mocking the Wii for it's Motions Sensing Wii mote.

That's exactly right. And if Kinect was on the PS3, cows would be praising it as well. People bash Move, but at least it's compatible with "core" PS3 games. Kinect is a joke and is taking the 360 down the path of the Wii while Microsoft relies heavily on third parties for "core" games. Yeah yeah, Gears, Halo, Forza, yada, yada. How many new IPs have we not seen since MS has abandoned their first party games?

Probably not. If it was cheaper maybe.
