Would it be a good idea for ms to buy Sony and save it from bankruptcy?

Gaming is only about 10% of Sony, so why would they want to buy the other 90%? Especially when most of the rest is in trouble? Makes no sense.

And for the record, it is not automatically illegal to buy your competitor. Whether the transaction will be allowed depends upon what the market will look like after e.g. total consolidation, number of other competitors, etc. MS almost certainly could buy Sony if they wanted too, but that clearly ould not make sense.

And also, Sony did turn a profit in 2007, quite a good one actually. But they lost money in their gaming division that year.
