Would titanfall get as much hate if it were PS exclusive?

I ask myself this because despite winning praise from the media from both the west and japan (won an award at TGS) and from those who have played it, the hate keeps intensifying. The mere mention of the game is met with a ton of negative responses from certain camps (on all websites, this, ign neogaf etc), but I feel like if the game were PS exclusive this wouldn't happen. People are praising killzone and yet trying to hate titanfall, which looks way better from a gameplay standpoint.

The biggest thing that these people like to do is call it COD with mechs, despite all evidence and gameplay suggesting otherwise. I mean, even the random japanese gamers love it! That says alot! You won't see these guys lining up for 3 hours to play Killzone.

Um, I wasn't focusing on japanese gamers per say, but I was surprised by the fact they'd wait 3+ Hours just to play the game.

The majority of the words I have seen assoicated with Shadowfall that didn't come from cows are: linear, generic, mediocre, flop, more of the same, shitty textures covered up by blur, etc. Those are not flattering words. I would imagine if Titanfall had been a PS exclusives those same words will be applied to the game as well. Maybe your glasses are fogging up or something because I don't see the "praise" Shadowfall is getting from anyone besides cows. It also doesn't help Titanfall's case that dumb lems hype it up as an Xbox exclusive.

KZ isn't a COD clone but it doesn't stand out either. Anyway there aren't many xbox fans left, so it will probably get less hate. Speaking of which I don't see why you guys think only xbox fans are hyping the game. I mostly play on PC and I am getting it there.

I forgot it is online only as well. I buy games for solo first and foremost. They know most COD players don't buy games for campaigns so add to my thoughts it is a spin-off.

yes of course and the superior version as well. PS4 will get Titanfall, just probably a year later, and probably will get Titanfall 2, just a year later as well. This game looks amazing, everything about it. I showed guys at my work and they were like that is real lol. Zampanella ftw

I never played the MP in Killzone 2 or 3. I will definitely beat most of the campaign in Shadow Fall before I start the MP.

What I hate is the claim Titanfall is coming only to Xb1, when it's also coming to pc.

I also hate that it's online only. I wanted a campaign.

To my knowledge, it could end up being just another pay to win online game, like Blacklight Retribution on the PC

The game receives hate for 2 reasons:

1. People think of it as CoD in space

2. It's a game which could dash Sony fans dreams of Sony dominance ala the PS2 era. 

I personally think the game looks fun as hell and can't wait to try it. :D

cboat said it was a year exclusive, which makes sense, he is "usually" right. He has been off lately, but his most recent predictions seem to come to fruition. regardless he is a good indicator.

I think that would be because Titanfall is such a "Xbox" type of game; it sort of epitomizes what's popular with that platform. It was a safe move, and doesn't try anything different, from what has been shown. If it were a PS-only title, it would receive a lukewarm reception, but not as much hate, due to that platform's emphasis on variety.

Personally, I would be more open to it if it was MP-only. I prefer SP campaigns--so regardless of platform, as is it wouldn't get play from me.
