Im saying 100 as in

Skipping everything and just doing the main quest.

Sure it would take a LONG time. But it could be an achievement for gamers that you finally climb that mountain. Im saying this because with new technology coming out. The possibilities are endless.

100+ long minus the sidequests etc would be a complete drag.

It might be but if the story is interesting and it has great twists and turns. Now add in CRUCIAL choices and you got yourself replay value.

Only action games, RPGs were longer/just as long as they are today.

If it retains its interest for that 100 hours then hell yes. However, if it is just padded game play for the sake of being long: no. I would rather play a 15 hour main quest that keeps me motivated the entire time (something like Bioshock) then a hundred hours of fetch quests and repetitive tasks

After playing games such as Front Missions 3 and 4 and Dragon Quest 8, a 100+ hour game is a piece of cake.

WRPGs are still pretty long today with a few exceptions. There were games besides platformers and brawlers that were short. Action/adventure games in general were shorter, especially sidescrollers.

before, when i was younger, i'd say yes. NOW, just no. it'll take me a year or so to finish that game. that's why i gave up on Dragon Age. for me, those types of games will just result in a waste of my time. as you grow older, you would take notice of your priorities first. oh yeah. 8)

Probably not. I like the main story to be done with in like 10 hours, and then have side quests.

It did take me 72 hours to do everything in Twilight Princess.

You can finish the original Fallouts in less than 5 hours too. If you just ran straight through, a WRPG is always pretty short. They usually thrive on giving you stuff to do outside the main quest.

Twilight Princess actually took me 150+ hours on my first playthrough, and even then I hadn't done most of the minigames, the Cave of Ordeals, or gotten the Magic Armor.

Like continous movement Not stopping for side quests only those essential to the main quest. So most people like to lag around and take their time so 100 as the fastest you could possibly beat a game.
